I can't get excited about this World Cup....but it's cricket nonetheless. We have done well in the warm up matches so far...well, Symonds, Hussey and Hilfenhaus have.....

I don't think anyone is really that pumped up for it.
My mates here from England were surprised to hear that we mostly treat it as a bit of a hit and giggle in Aus (the game with the 80s theme, for instance). They said in England it`s just as serious as the normal stuff. Bloody boring Poms.
I agree with what Andrew Symonds said a month or so ago. It's a shame to make a serious tournament out of what should be some fun. If there's no signing autographs on the boundary, no micing up the players etc then it just becomes one more variation of normal cricket. Shame Symonds was completely misquoted, misunderstood and crucified.
