notting...worth a damn good look.

For all things non Essendon related, tell us how much you hate the Blues, Pies, etc.

Rate this guy highly. Massive kick, agile, very handy running of back flank and hard at it. Can't believe Brisbane have offered him a one year deal! To be honest, I reckon they'll offer him a few more. He's a conceited son of a B - just reckon they're trying to bring him back down to earth.

Always thought highly of Notting. He's hurt us quite a few times. Gets under your guard when you're worrying about a Lappin, Black, Voss, Akermanis, Power, Brown, Bradshaw, etc...

A very good replacement for Dean Solomon, if indeed Solomon is finished. Notting is a pacy, skilled back flanker. Take note Deano....

Why are they getting rid of him? He was always looked to as someone to take over responsibility when the premiership group faded out. He has never stepped up. Has some streakish ability but do we really want a player who cannot maintain consistancy?

Take your point, but we'd have to get rid of 2/3rds of our list for that exact reason!

lets see, we have Cole, McPhee, NLM, Solomon, Welsh, McVeigh and MJ who are all small=>medium defenders AND YOU WANT TO ADD ANOTHER ONE?

Whats more, he's 27! People, we came 2nd last, focus a bit more on youth.

I should clarify what I was saying...

He is good in an excellent unit, with the likes of some of the names I mentioned earlier. He'd probably do well enough in our side, but we're lacking in areas that he can't fill.

As has been said, we have an abundance of flanker style players. We need a CHB and some gun midfielders, which Notting really isn't either (although he could possibly fill the midfield role?).

Agree with antcl, we should be focusing on youth.

You guys should join the circus with keplar do you seriousley think Lee Mathews would take Cole ,Mathews is clearing the decks ,which you must do after any era .All the players being offered up dont fit the long term plan , are too old or have long injury histories, or are just plain pain in the arses. This is what Essendon should have done two seasons a go instead of proping up the list with hacks from other teams and persisting with players who for one reason or another have escaped scrutiny eg; reynolds.hennerman.peverill.bolton,

Let's see, we have;
Cartledge 21
Bradley 21
Dempsey 19
Dyson 21
Johns 21
Jolley 20
Laycock 22
Lee 20
Lonergan 19
Lucy 19
Monfries 19
Nash 20
Neagle 18
Ryder 18
Slattery 20
Stanton 20
Watson 21
Winderlich 22

That's 43% of our current list 22 and under. How much youth do you want???
