When WA played Vic Metro Gumbleton was 2nd best against Vic who won playing at CHB and is a big unit.....197/93 and is only 18 (ready to play??)! I am assuming Gibbs goes to the Scum as he is apparently the best player so Gumbleton could be our 1st pick. Hansen is slightly smaller but is a Victorian so no chance of homesickness.

That's the thing with Gibbs though Filthy. I think i said it after watching the U/18 carnival; he doesn't have any blinding attributes like a Judd turn of speed, a Buckley field kick or a Ramanauskas vertical leap, but he's just very good at everything.
Anyway, as for the draft, we've just got to get the best players available. Sounds obvious but i think people tend to overlook that and over-analyse the entire situation.

I have big wraps for Jarryd Allen
Has played forward/back and 3rd ruck. Kicked a couple of bags of 8 goals for the Calder Cannons at CHF.
Would be worth looking at for a later pick.

maybe we should draft him if he is a good athlete, and just teach him football skills, sounds like a good way to go, i wonder if this has been tried beforesconsey wrote:Hmm, how did i know that Tm Houlihan would feature in all the long distance tests? He is an awesome athlete!!! Travels the world running. Not sure about his football ability, though apparently is still improving quite a bit.

I would love to get Selwood but then Hanson and Gumbleton would be nice as well. I doubt we would get 2 of the three as all players would have to be top 10 at least, even top 5.
Im leaning towards either Selwood or Gumbleton, maybe if we get one selwood it might entice the other brothers back to victoria!!

I'd say Hansen, as he was meant to have beaten Gumbleton in the championships. Also, more of a pure CHB than Gumbleton.
With picks #18 and #20, I'd like to see Nathan Brown and a midfielder (not sure which, think there will be a number of good optios - Collard, Armitage, Proud, Houli, etc).
With pick #36 I'd like to see us get Batsansis. Not fast, but seems to be a good mix of in&under and outside, with the precise foot skills we're crying out for in the midfield. Sounds like a reasonable chance to drop to this pick.
Get those guys, and we'd have two top KP players who can both play forward/back, and two good midfielders.
Personally, I really like the sound of Nathan Brown. Love KP defenders who are quick off the mark, and he was in the top 10 in the 20m sprint.

If we can get hansen and nathan brown we'll have one of the best spines in the comp in two or three years - brown, hansen, watson, cj, lloyd. I'd be stoked if nathan brown was still around by pick 18.
Selwood could be the real steal though... I've heard that he captained the vic metro side last year that had Marc Murphy in it!
