what exactly needs to be worked out? if he's broken the rules - then shouldn't he be serving the penalty.
Or perhaps there are different rules for different players?
Spot on
Just like some players being afforded an arc when running in for goal. I have heard he has been on 3 strikes for a while but the AFL have suppressed it as they don't want their marquee superstar outed as a drug taker
well Andy D is back now and same saying they might announce it after the season so he can play finals.... that's the "working out" I was referring to
also talk of when he got pulled over they found stuff in his car, but that's purely speculation
have to wait and see but something serious is going on

I would laugh my arse off if the Hawks win the premiership - Buddy kicks 6 goals and wins the Norm Smith, and a week later he is banned for 12 weeks. I really hope this happens so Demetriou and the entire AFL can be exposed for the corrupt organisation that it is.
Depends how 'conspiracy theory' you want to get. I don't think there's any great doubt that there are different rules for different players. No doubt we've probably benefitted from it in the past, who knows. The whole deal is corrupt, that isn't news.

Isn't a 3rd strike mean you are de-registered?

To be honest I don't know - but if so it would be even funnier.

16 weeks and a public name and shame.
Interesting that a second strike is 6 weeks plus no name and shame.
Had a 2 week injury with the Hammy. Stretches into 5. Then before his 6th games withdraws due to a "mystery" illness.
Stinks of a cover up.

yep 2nd strike is 6 weeks and 3rd strike is a minimum of 12 weeks along with name and shame
not sure how you give a guy a 6 week suspension without naming unless you do what Hawks have done now
either way it stinks of a cover up

barely makes sense... so it's a 6 week suspended sentence after the 2nd strike and the suspension put in place after the 3rd strike?
so him missing 6 weeks means he got the 3rd strike
didn't say anything about name and shame
and they have the option to send him to the tribunal?

No...
If a player receives a second strike then they receive a 6 week suspended sentence. If they receive a third strike the 6 weeks is added to any other penalty handed down by the league.
ahh ok im with you now, so these past 6 weeks out of the game doesn't mean anything....
we are back to waiting to see if he plays or not i guess
