Is Sydney Bottoming Out?

Post by grassy1 »

Can’t remember who defiantly said “Sydney Swans never bottom out”,but looking where they are now and where they could be by the end of Round 23,I have ‘em pegged for an 8 - 14 finish.

That includes their 2 most likely Wins at either end of what’s left against 2 PACK OF NO HOPERS in the dorkers and the aints. But will they? Will Buddy return to help them defy such dire predictions,or is he cooked for the year?

But after their loss to the scum yesterday, they look done!I could be wrong, but a loss to the 1st PACK OF NO HOPERS and you lot are regally Screwed!

Next year they are likely to be even lower - If you look at the age profile of the club, many of their key performers are at the end of their careers

Age (* = birthday later this year so will add 1 year)
34 - McVeigh
33 - Grundy
32 - Jack
31 - Franklin, Smith, Kennedy
29 - Sinclair*, Rampe
27 - Menzel*, Reid*
26 - Naismith*, Parker*, Fox
25 - Lloyd*, Cunningham*, Thurlow
24 - Aliir, Jones, Cameron
23 - Hewett*, Rose, Heeney, Papley
22 - Melican*, Mills, Dawson, Clarke
21 - Ronke*, Florent

When 7 of your starting 22 are 30+, and there don't seem to be ready replacements you are in trouble. These players are starting to break down from cumulative injuries and wear and tear (Kennedy seems about cooked but still wills himself onward).
Mills and Heeney were supposed to be mainly midfield this year - but needed to stay back and forward to cover injuries.

Ta Ta Swans!

Looks like you are bottoming out, after your screwed up loss to the Dorkers by 1 lousy point!

 8) :-"

As for you Ross Lyon, don’t flatter yourself.Sydney came down to the level of your lot so bad,it officially ended their season. It had NOTHING to do with your bunch of no hopers!
