No.1 or No.2? Gibbs or Hansen?

For all things non Essendon related, tell us how much you hate the Blues, Pies, etc.

Spot on that man. Get Hansen. Guys like Monfries, Nash, even Lovett will spend more time in the midfield next year you would expect.

Hansen. Have seen him play regularly and he looks the goods.

Strong and would fit into a long term CHB! Running off.....

Very courageous!

we have to get them sooner or later and with fletch soon to leave we NEED someone else, we have plenty of young talent in the middle/half foward line

I'd take Hansen for two reasons:

1. He's a KPP who plays in position we need help
2. He's a Victorian so we'd never have to worry about him wanting to go home

Gibbs would be a great pick up but big bodies are harder to find than midfielders no matter how good they are.

West Coast had a fantastic midfield last year and still lost the GF.

The main reason they are favourites this year is because of the huge improvement shown by Lynch.

Selwood will be lucky to go top 10.

Has hardly touched a footy all year.

like many others if we can hansen for me,

by far our weakest area, we really need to shore up a solid defence, and from what I hear he is a good starting point to build the back 6 around.

Easy Answer. A great CHB has never won a game for a club.

We need match winners.

I am sure with the players we already have, Lee, LAycock, Johns, Lucas....surely we can find an effective CHB.

Agree, but a good CHB has often shut down a gun CHF which has won matches.

Think Jakovich on Carey in the 90's.

The more I think about it, the more I don't know who I want more.

Brilliant CHBs DO win matches, as they cut off the supply to the forward line, while negating the key forward. But champion CHBs are rarer these days than top CHFs. Just look at the discussions for the AA team, no-one can even find top candidates for the position.

I'd lean towards grabbing whoever looks like being the match winner (and Carlton hasn't picked up of course). We really really need some match winners.

On Selwood, he was burning before he did his knee (from what I read on BF). Trend seems to be to still expect him to go 6 => 10 (depending on medical tests).

Yeah I think Selwood would have been number 1 if he hadnt had his knee injury. As I said on the old BT I've been on the recieveing end of some of his performances before. He did stuff you couldnt do anything but sit back and admire.

Correct Windy and we are about to lose arguably the best match winner of all time....

I am more worried about replacing Sir James than Fletch

I with the "take the best available with the first pick" School of thinking. Worry about team balance with 2+

Gibbs if he's still available, Lee can play CHB.

If Gibbs is taken, Hansen and Lee should play FB for Bendigo to prepare to replace Fletcher.
Aaron Francis is the Messiah.
