Surely a third round pick for Bolts is better than Bolts

I am afraid to say the Essendon is not the club it once was. Its gone soft
Thankyou. Precisely. And for anyone who still says we just don't close deals because we were 'too good' at it 5-10 years ago and so no one wants to touch us anymore, you're kidding yourselves. We've done barely squat in 5 years since the McPhee deal. We were in a strong position this trading period and still couldn't manage anything.

If we aren't going to trade, then that's fine, but you can't go telling supporters about how hard we're going to trade mid-season only to disappoint again. That's what i like to call dishonesty bordering on a lie.

And for f***'s sake, please let me log on here in an hour's time to find we got rid of Solomon. Pick 40 or better will do.

Problem is that we have become so gun shy because of past recruiting f*** ups (think Bolts, Harvey, McAlister et al) that the recruitment department is not prepare to trade good players. We seem to always try to get away with the Jacobs for pick 6 type deals or the Teddy Richards for pick 19!!!

This year, people are saying ok, you can have pick 35 for Solomon and we are saying - get stuffed, we want your first round draft pick for a guy who gives away more kicks than he gets!!!

My belief was we should have moved heaven and earth to get at least one more Top 20 selection. So in that Case throw our Pick 36 and Solly in for say PIck 15 or 16.

Time to get rid of the entire football department - get some freah, ambitious hard nosed bastards in there.

We are too busy trying to screw every other club, and now nobody will even look at us. If we actually had a focus on legitimate trades me might actually get somewhere.

YES.

No hardmen left

We've returned to the land of the softcocks.

Its marshmallow time all over again.

We also possibly added in a rd 4 and solly for the 2 picks

Explains alot about EFC when St Kilda can hire a coach in the middle of trade week & still do deals with players they want. Good luck to em

The use of 'hardmen' has been taken out of the game. To many rules turning the game soft. The bulldogs don't have any, but look how they went.

Probably also the fact that we have made some really good players out of trades.
