For all things non Essendon related, tell us how much you hate the Blues, Pies, etc.

favourite non essendon player of the week.

Post by little_ripper »

Stephen Hill - Fremantle.

This bloke is an amazing footy player. V good skills and FAST(love the way he moves around the ground).

I can sadly see him cutting us to absolute ribbons(amongst many other clubs) in the not too distant future.

Between him and Fyfe as my fav non bomber player at the moment.
I don't what it is about fremantle footballers, but I wish we could get them in a trade.

Please add to this thread with your own.

We could always trade our junk for their best. It's worked for us in the past...

What's in the water at East Fremantle. It seems that half the league is made up from players from East Freo.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

They have an excellent youth development plan.

One of my mates over here is originally from Sydney and naturally is a big rugby league fan...he brought his sons up to follow the sport and refer to Aussie Rules as "kick and giggle"

His oldest son recently turned 17 and after one year of playing Aussie Rules with his mates in the local league, he was invited to train with East Freo's development squad. (He is about 200cm and 95 kg)

After a year in the squad he is now playing colts (U19s) for East Freo and gets training tips from the likes of Aaron Sandilands.

The advantage clubs have over here is that they still have zones where they can recruit from...East Freo are very good at managing their zone(s).

Sydney's Josh Kennedy. It's almost cliche to say this guy is under-rated, but he is anyway. Hawthorn must be very pleased. :D

Yes and Sydney got him and McGlynn - who's also been very good for them - for a third round pick I think.

Just looked it up - the two for picks No. 39, 46 and 70, in the same trade period in which they conned us out of pick 16.

Swans have done exceptionally well at recruiting/trading in the past few years.

Past few yeears? Try forever.

Neagle
Williams
Healey
Toohey
Lockett
Roos
Davis
Hall

And these are just the better known players. They have in my opinions bettered all other clubs with their trading over the years they have been in Sydney

favourite this week.

another mid. excuse the fact he has a neck tattoo, but Dustin Martin.

Love the way he plays contested footy, has a fantastic kick, can take a mark.
such a pity he plays for richmond.
IMO he is better than Cotchin at richmond(which is saying something as Cotchin isn't bad himself).

Nick Smith, Pat Dangerfield and Joey Kennedy get it for me this week.

Nick Smith on as a sub, 14 possies, dominated in getting the swans back into the contest. Kennas has taken his game to a whole new level, his work rate is exceptional. Unfortunately his brother did his hammy for our club yesterday

And Patty Dangerfield, someone mentioned he wants to come home, all speculation, but I couldn't believe the responses. Most were that they didnt want him. He is an out and out gun, and the midfielder that we need in our side. He will become Elite. I think he is only 21-22. We should be doing everything we can to go and get him.

Didn't we look into a couple of years back but he re-signed?

This week it's Josh Kennedy as others have mentioned..

Every week it is Jimmy Bartel.

It's been less than a week since BJG joined the Red and Black, but already the world is a far better place.

Yep. That happened. He also refused to go to Carlton in another trade. I think it may hve been for Campo.

And most of the comments on BT were that he (Bartel) was too slow.

Yeah I remember that. Dimwits loved Bolton because he was quick around the tan. Pity he wasn't a footballer's arsehole.

Poor old Pazza once stated he was one of the best 5 players going around. I didn't let him live that down in a hurry. In fact I think I copped a week for calling him a f*** wit.
