Pick 1

Post by s'dreams » Tue Apr 11, 2017 9:10 am

With Hawthorn a possibility to win the spoon this year ... will the AFL intervene to stop the embarrassment of pick 1 going to St Kilda (given the Hawks traded this years' first round pick to land O'Meara).
Interesting

Of Hawthorn wins the spoon, I'll do a nudie run down Bourke Street.

No chance.

If we got #1 last year there is no way they will intervene if that does happen... but it wont happen

Interesting
why would the afl intervene? a deals a deal. it does not help the hawks to finish last.

hawks wont finish last, but st kilda could get a much better pick than they bargained for.

I recall a number of media types strongly arguing against Essendon trading pick 1 last year when the concept was floated (and yes some were saying that it would be embarrassing).
It seems that some feel pick 1 needs to be "earned".

If it's a race for the wooden spoon - and St Failure and Hawthorn are the two horses in the race - I know who will be winning that contest in a Winx type performance.

Neither embarrassing or interesting.
