2022 Finals Series

Post by BenDoolan »

Shocked to see Brisbane win right at the end of the game.

Shocked to see Swans defeat Demons.

Just shocking!

I find it interesting that our fantastic list of players decide to hop on a plane and disappear overseas to enjoy their well earned R & R.

Perhaps they might benefit from hanging around here watching teams apply pressure, pressure, pressure so they get some sort of clue what is required to play in September?

I was thinking exactly that watching the swans last night. They kee themselves in the game by constant pressure. The basics will always keep you in a game. We are not even close to the intensity that the top sides bring.

Absolutely nowhere near it.

Which makes me kind of giggle. When the blowtorch was on a few of our senior players throughout the year highlighting their lack of effort and intensity, they responded with “well, we’re a bit confused with our role and game plan” sort of thing.

Perhaps stick around and watch other teams go at it in September and get a clue.

How’s Collingwood? This is intensity. They might still lose but at least they have a f****** crack.

This is what is required.

Unbelievable work rate, pressure, and intensity across every game.

The attitude and standards of the top 8 teams are just light years ahead of EFC.

Generally agree, but I would argue Richmond and the Dogs Regally f***** Up this weekend!

Not that Our Holidaying Players should find any solace in that!

And therein lies much of the frustration.

We beat Brissie x 10pts at their home ground.
We beat the Swans by 9 pts at the G.

We should've beat C'wood x 4 pts at the G. Missed by a split second.

They can do it, they have the skill and they can apply the pressure.

However, skill and pressure seems to ebb & flow like a king tide! The tide needs to stay in ffs.

dockers 41 pts down but win.

Bombers 42 pts down v crows in 93 and win.

Biggest comeback in a final still.

So, Joey.........???
Late withdrawal tonight because of Family Reasons?? Anyone any the wiser? Apparently, it's nothing to do with COVID. Lions are gutted.

Daniher didn't seem to know that an amorous good time on NYE might mean some consequences for finals footy. I bet they're happy at the Brissie selection committee.

Lions picked a Perfect time to break their Melbourne Hoodoo and now the Demons are Out in Straight Sets, after breaking their 57 year drought in Grand Fashion last year.Dees fans shouldn’t be too hard on themselves. Now their drought is only 1 year.Hell of a difference!

Lions move forward for a Preliminary Date with the Cats next week.

Pies 17th last year? Prelim this year?

Can our club executives realise this is the sort of shit that drives us crazy.

Was in a Grand Final in 2018 (nearly won it).

Lost a Prelim by a kick in 2019.

Beat West Coast in Perth in 2020 Elim Final before losing the Semi.

Probably just sick of Bucks in 2021.

But yeah, I’m sick of how shit we are. Useless turd of a club.
