Rama a Rookie!

Essendon have said although it looks unlikely that Rama won't play in 2007,they don't want to lose him.So they will ask the AFL if he can be listed as an "older" rookie! This is very strange but considering the situation the AFL might agree to it........

Don't hold your breath.
They have very little time for Essendon and Rama's circumstance, as highlighted by the issue with the armbands.
They like nothing better than standing behind small bureaucratic rules and saying stuff like "we don't want to set a precedent" even though many have previously been set.
It's a nice idea though.

Unfortunately for Rama if he is not going to play and the AFL wont bend he will have to be delisted as we certainly can't afford to carry him.

So they can bend the rules for Melbourne and not Essendon?

does he still train with the boys or anything?

A player dying is completely different circumstances to the one we are in with Rama.
