Cool.
Re: News just in Crams and Bell
EmmaQ was also reporting that Hooker had signed, or was very close to signing on.
Re: News just in Crams and Bell
I cannot for the life of me understand why TBC was resigned. Ridiculous.
Like sand through the hour glass, so are the days at the Essendon Football Club.
Re: News just in Crams and Bell
So we go into 2014 with just Ryder as senior ruckman on the list? If he goes down, then we rely on a skinny and raw 19/20 year old Daniher to ruck?
Really?
Really?

Good news. Hopefully a good sign, that the players have not lost faith in the club, amazingly.

Excellent news on both counts. All three if Hooker is also accurate.

We would need to find another back up ruckman, but that should be relatively easy to do.danstar84 wrote:So we go into 2014 with just Ryder as senior ruckman on the list? If he goes down, then we rely on a skinny and raw 19/20 year old Daniher to ruck?

The bottom line is:
1. Paddy is our number 1 ruck and plays best when he plays 90%+ of the game in that position. That usually doesn't happen when we play TBC.
2. TBC couldn't crack our best 22 late in the year.
3. We've got too much money tied up in the ruck position.
4. We have pressing needs as far as our list goes (small forward, another mid etc) that a trade involving TBC could be used to address.

TBC is a good footballer who actually wants to play for us despite an incompetent management.gringo wrote:We would need to find another back up ruckman, but that should be relatively easy to do.danstar84 wrote:So we go into 2014 with just Ryder as senior ruckman on the list? We should hold onto him for dear life!
Daniher is still a couple of years away.
We'll be trading gumby and jetta.
Both have currency and both would get more opportunity elsewhere.
Re: News just in Crams and Bell
Great news if true.
Sends a signal to all that our playing group is not fractured. All three have played important roles this year - we cannot afford to let quality leave with restricted drafts for the next two years.

Sensational news about both of them!! Despite TB trade currency we need him to stay next season! Some much needed news to smile about! Wonderful loyalty by the players!
Re: News just in Crams and Bell
Awesome news. Big fan of T-Bell and Crameri!

I think Gumby and Jetta are certainties to be on the trade table now. I think Melb would be VERY keen on Jetta after losing both Davey and Rodan to retirement.little_ripper wrote:TBC is a good footballer who actually wants to play for us despite an incompetent management.gringo wrote:We would need to find another back up ruckman, but that should be relatively easy to do.danstar84 wrote:So we go into 2014 with just Ryder as senior ruckman on the list? With Hille and Natrat already retiring we don't need to make all that many changes to the list now in regards to delistings (I think Davis, Browne & a few rookies may go...)

Re: News just in Crams and Bell
I don't know about Davis but I think Browne showed enough last year that if he can stay fit he's worth keeping.
And with the first two draft picks gone I can see cuts at a minimum. Hille, Ovens, Jetta.

Yeah I think the coaches will want to keep Browne but I just got the feeling his family were one of the ones not overly impressed with what has happened. He may ask to leave as he didn't get many games this season.j-mac31 wrote:I don't know about Davis but I think Browne showed enough last year that if he can stay fit he's worth keeping.

Re: News just in Crams and Bell
I don't know if it was Browne's mum. He had already turned 21 when "she" called. I would hope these guys have a mind of their own in any case. 100 years ago, boys younger than him went off to war and never came back...Mrs Mercuri wrote:Yeah I think the coaches will want to keep Browne but I just got the feeling his family were one of the ones not overly impressed with what has happened. Plus Browne needs to stop getting 16 week long hamstring injuries!
