Pick 26
Re: Pick 26
So if garlett, apeness and Zach merrett are all
Still avail at 26 who do we take?
Garlett would be my pick but happy with either
Of the other two.
Draft restrictions this year have pretty much taken
Any excitement out of this year and next years lead
Up to the day as we know we have shit picks and
probably wont get much for them.
As such we need to make pick26 count!

Seriously though I'd wager St Kilda will grab Ape, Garlett is a headcase so wouldn't touch him with a forty foot pole so..... Merrett the likely out of the 3.
Why does next years draft suck? We get the last pick of round 1, which we were gonna get anyway.
Essendon Football Club- We arent arrogant, just deluded.
Re: Pick 26
True I forgot we have that pick next year. But
We can't use it on f/s selection... Is that right?
If so is there a chance we won't get longys kid?
Just hope we manage to find a couple o diamonds
In the rough and stick it up the afl!!

Re: Pick 26
Depends on whether the AFL stick to the agreement we came to or if they try and push us more. You'd think with revelations over other clubs programs they'd let it slide and we'd be able to get him.patoman wrote:True I forgot we have that pick next year. But

Otherwise..... no chance he gets to the third round. Unless something goes wrong next year.

Re: Pick 26
From draft reviews, highlight packs etc
I like both talls.
Pick 26: Darcy Gardiner(AFL.com.au has Brisbane very keen though, so prob not there)
Pick 55: Cameron Conlon
Otherwise if we go small, I don't mind ziggie alwan on our list somehow. Although maybe we would prefer he would be getting more of the footy as mature age. I really dig his highlights though. I would rather have turned over one of our current guys struggling to get a kick like de'ollio/jetta etc and give this kid a crack. Maybe a mature age rookie? if he doesn't get drafted?(whats the criteria...he is born 88 which makes him 25)

Re: Pick 26
Welcome to Essendon Zac and Fantastico. Our midfield is becoming faster by the moment.
Nothing usually happens until something happens.
Re: Pick 26
And what a sensible pick it turned out to be.
I for one am now retiring from the 'predict a gun' game. Clearly the clubs knows better.

My material isn't very good..Oh...and then there's the bladder problem.

Ummm ... Kepler, Gumby, Laycock, Shayne Harvey, Leroy and Kav all say hi!!! Sometimes first rounders don't work out.hop wrote:And what a sensible pick it turned out to be.

We got good 2 or 3 times over the past 5 years in the straight draft. Much beter record in the rookie to seniors promotion.

Re: Pick 26
tall backman, uses the footy well, takes a good mark great second effort. Prefer him to Steinberg or Pears (IMHO)mdso wrote:little_ripper wrote:i'd still like Darcy Gardiner from Brisbane if we have to trade with those fools....
