Should be good to go then! He certainly has pedigree and is a solid 20 year old. 196cm, 98kg...forward depth & development player?

Hartley had dodgy shoulders early and that hasn't held him back.

Anyhow, I see him as a rookie selection more than anything.

We just took a bloke that is bloody similar, and probably better, in the trade period.

But with NO shoulder problems, plus it was no shame not pushing Lobb Cameron and Patton out of their team.

Don't get me wrong, I doubt he's on our radar for the same reasons y'all have listed. He might get a rookie spot somewhere and Hartleys story is an example of why. He might need a year in the vfl though.
AFL.com.au understands the Crows are close to finalising a contract extension for young key forward Harry Dear.

The 20-year-old was the 58th overall pick in the 2014 draft and showed promising signs in the SANFL this year.

Dear has had to bide his time behind captain Taylor Walker, Josh Jenkins, Tom Lynch and Mitch McGovern, but is seen as a quality long-term prospect.

Yep. He's proven to be at least handy at AFL level.

Yeah, we should have taken him instead of Hardingham around 7 years ago.

Couldn't hurt as a bit of depth - still gets the ball a lot and was always slow - won't cost much, PSD pick 1 year contract

Seems Richards is getting a bit worried about finding a club in Melbourne and is suckking up at Sydney. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/x ... safof.html.

I suspect this indicates that no-one from Essendon has contacted his manager. :-s

Dempsey starting to look safe (and not just because he is on a trip North with the assistant coach). :-"

I smell a f****** rat here. A player decides to leave Sydney because it is too expensive, then doesn't actually leave...

I think the issue here is that we have an abundance of defensive options already

I floated him a couple of months ago.
