Stewart from GWS

Post by F111 »

Anyone know anything about this bloke?
Some video in here...http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/2016- ... -join-dons
Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro told essendonfc.com.au Stewart had struggled to force his way into the GWS forward line past Jeremy Cameron, Rory Lobb and Jonathon Patton.

"We were looking for a tall forward that could complement our forward line next year with Joey (Daniher) and obviously Tommy Bellchambers coming back, and possibly Aaron Francis playing up forward," Dodoro said.

"We've tracked James since he was at the Sandringham Dragons a number of years ago.

"He's just found it really difficult to break into a really strong forward line at GWS. When you’ve got the likes of Patton, Cameron and Lobb in the forward line it’s very difficult to get a game."

Listed at 196cm, Stewart can also play back-up ruck if necessary.

Dodoro said bringing Stewart in would give coach John Worsfold the option of playing 2015 best and fairest Cale Hooker at either end of the ground.

"He'll (Stewart) certainly be given every opportunity to play as a forward and I know Cale Hooker is looking forward to playing in the forward line, and he may still do that," Dodoro said.

"But when you've got two All Australian defenders – we know they can play there with great confidence."

Stewart is the son of former Collingwood player, Craig. The Magpies could have selected Stewart as a father-son selection in 2012 but chose not to. The Giants drafted him at No.27 that year.

He has played 18 matches in his career, with just one coming this season.

Good size, don't think we'll have to give up a lot for him. Will give us a pretty handy stock of talls.

I know he could turn out to be a good foil for Joe, his old man could play a bit.

Showed glimpses before being shut out by Cameron, Patton & Lobbe.

Good hands, and reliable kick. Decent size about him.

Not getting a game at GWS this year is no crime...

He is worth a look and we're not going to give up much I suspect

I've always loved Jimmy Stewart.

Was a US Air Force Captain in WW2. Not to mention his acting credits....
My material isn't very good..Oh...and then there's the bladder problem.

Didn’t want to pay another year of medical bills…

Poor bugger though. Feel for him. Could play a bit when fit.

He had a rough year with injury and personal issues.
But kicked 5 goals in the last VFL round in his first game back.
Now gone, and our shit club haven't even formally announced it. He's been with us for 7 years, and the sh*theads can't even put together a media release or social media post to say "Thanks for your 7 years service, we wish you well".
