Cast your minds back to round 6, 8 weeks ago, at this moment in time we got belted by Port Adelaide by 64 points and our future looked dull. The following week against Sydney in Sydney we received a 99 point belting and it looked really bleak and also after the first quarter vs Richmond. But many of you would remember that through all the doom and gloom around here that I and a few others on here continued to press the point that this is a young team that was still developing and there would be light at the end of the tunnel. Today's performance was the reward for all those weeks of enduring such pathetic football and all of a sudden look at us now, 3 in a row with full steam ahead and a chance for finals, although i aint thinking that far ahead as its unlikely but still fun to sit back and watch, but the future looks exciting again! This post wasn't made to blow my own horn, but to remind all Essendon supporters that when the times get tough, try to focus on the positives instead of laying into how crap we are and other negative drivel. Anyway, its a win win for all of us, the boys are playing great and this is the beginning of something special, so get ready to enjoy it as we climb back up to the top!
WELL DONE BOMBERS =D> =D> =D>

It's good to be positive JP and certainly nice to get three wins in a row.
But don't get too carried away - none of the three teams we beat are in the 8.
Let's see how we go against Brisbane next round.
If we can match it with them (even if we lose) then maybe we really have turned the corner.

What he said. If we had've lost today it would've been extremely disheartening - they had two key defenders out before the game (McPharlin and Jonhson), played with 20 men in the second and third quarters (Dunn and Hayden both injured), and only 19 men in the fourth quarter (Crowley got Reimered). But still, Freo have been pretty solid at Subiaco this year and it was our first win there in 5 years, so it's a great result - hugely important for the young guys to get an interstate win and go into the week off on a high note.billyduckworth wrote:It's good to be positive JP and certainly nice to get three wins in a row.

So yes, well done JP for remaining positive. We have improved significantly since that first half against Richmond, which was close to the worst football i can ever remember seeing us play. I liked the fact that Knights gave them a massive bake at quarter and half time against Richmond because the players deserved it and needed it, and i've no doubt it's helped put our season back on track (in terms of development).
