Essendon vs Carlton Match Thread

Post by paddyl90 »

Just felt the need to start it up. I'm scared that my reign of terror over my blues friends will end tonight. I am about to leave in the next couple of hours and hope to see some fantastic footy  from Essendon of course. How good would it be to thrash them......I am dreaming I know but its a nice dream  We need a start like the last time we played them with the 8 goal first quarter. Knights said he will play attacking footy so i hope that the skills are on tonight with turnovers at the absolute mininmum because we will get slaughtered on the counter. Anyway, cmon the bombers :D I love being the underdog.

We are not without a chance. We will start underdogs of course but I would be ecstatic if we won. I think I'd die laughing.

I wonder if Slattery will fill the hole in front of Fev this time....

OK, I'm off to give some shit to a few Carlton tossbags. Hopefully Lovett can have another blinder. He seems to love playing against them.

Last minute change for the Dons... Quinn out with a virus and has been replaced in the side by Nash. Im not sure who our other two emergencies are!

I hope we really give it to the Blue Baggers tonight!! =D>

Nothing to lose tonight. Absolutely nobody in media gives us a chance of coming close let alone win. If we cop a flogging we won't be criticised(unless it's more than 10 goals) and if we win the story tomorrow will be about us not them. We'll just have to put up with thier arsehole supporters gloating for a week.

It reminds me of the times around 2001-2002 when we were dominant, there were stories in the paper about us and how good we were and nobody gave them a chance. As we all know, they got up in a couple of those games. Hopefully we can do the same.

i have just started watching it on the tv and already Carlton's pressure is causing us problems. Ther players seem so much bigger in the body than our boys as well.

Good to see Daniher starting so confidently!!

Im watching the first quarter and Darcy Daniher is on the Fev. Not sure if that has changed in the 2nd. Lloydy started up the ground but is back to full forward at the moment. Lucas needs to start firing if we are any chance to win.

Stanton really needs to work on his kicking, he has turned it over 2 or 3 times already in the first quarter. Davey's forward pressure has been excellent!

Essendon ahead at 1/2 time. Hille and Watson really coming into the game. Our pace too much for them.

Worst commentary ever - even when we came back all they could talk about was F**King CARLTON!!!!!!

Lloyd in the goal square.... FINALLY!!!!!!

ahead without our main guys having much influence, hopefully they can come into it more in the 2nd half and skip ahead a little, im talking about Hille and Watson mainly but include Winder and Ryder in that, Ryder a bit scared at the centre bounce...

Fletcher MUST go to Fev, it's a must!

Yeah i can understand why Knighta want Darcy to learn off Fev but we cant lose the game because of it. He is doing ok so far but i would rather Fletch on him and Darcy given one of the other Carl forwards.

Great fightback by the boys in the 2nd quarter. We really started dominating possessions and Lloyd is looking dangerous.

Hille, Lloyd, Stanton (besides the numerous turnovers), Dempsey, Davey and Lovett have been great so far. Lets hope the boys keep it up in the second half!!

Up by a goal at 3/4 time. Too much happened to write about but it's enough to say that not only are the Carlton supporters F**kwits their players are too. Thornton and Waite what a pair of cocks. Thornton's eyes are too close together, there's not enough space in his head for his brain and his eyes.

Hille reported for hitting New Zeaand's greatest cicketer on the shoulder. Should not be a worry at the tribunal.
