Essendon vs Carlton Match Preview Thread

GAME ON FOLKS! MAY THIS THREAD OOZE BLOOD AND HATRED! THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR FOR US BESIDES FILTH.

Fletcher on Fevola please [-o< Fev quiet = Essendon win. I think its as simple as that. You won't agree but I think keep Fev goalless then we will win easily. We have Reimers, Welsh, McVeigh (tribunal pending) and Prismall in and chuck in Lonergan, Watson, Stanton, Hocking, Winderlich & Lovett. f*** we have a good team. Way better than the blues! I want this game to be over with :( i can't stand the wait. Just want to win.

All games are important. However, this game, for a whole stack of reasons, will be the most important home and away game we will play this season.

1) Hated and bitter rivals
2) We need to string 2 wins in a row together
3) Time to make a statement against another contender
4) They are on the same win/loss ratio - a chance to put our heads in front
5) A win gives us a positive win/loss ratio
6) could be the game that gets us into the finals
7) 80K crowd on the beiggest stage
8) Live Friday Night Audience
9) A real chance to see how some players respond to a must win Mega Game

I reckon we should put Pears on Fev, and I think it is very likely to occur. Fletch is being used a lot as a rebounder this year, taking the third tall, and I think Tayte could do a pretty good job on Fev. Hasn't let too many forwards beat him this year.

I'd go with Pears on Fevola. That allows Fletcher to play loose and rebound from the backline while also being able to help out on Fev and others.

Hoping for good games from Llloyd and Lucas on the bigger MCG against Carlton's crap backline.

Also, with the larger ground I'd like to Stanton have a good game.

Pears on Fevola seems like a good move. With Fletch rebounding from half-back the ball won't get down there too often anway!

We will win because we are better than them. That's why we keep beating them. They have all the hype and we just worry about getting it right.

It is fair to say, if I painted half of my d*ck black on Friday night - and we won - I would be flying a red and black flag full-mast!!!!!!!!!!!
