f***'n Question...

Post by BenDoolan »

Why is our game not shown on free to air in Melbourne tonight while the Adelaide - Collingwood clash is?

The reason I ask is that I get mightily pissed off when we play interstate and our games aren't shown on free to air here while another game that is played in Melbourne, is.

We will have played 5 interstate matches by the end of the season, and only one match will have been shown in Melbourne - the Brisbane clash in R6.

Meanwhile, Collingwood will have played 4 interstate games and 3 of them will have been shown on free to air in Melbourne - including tonight. f***'n WHY?

I don't normally give a shit - as I attend the game in Melbourne anyway, but why are our interstate games not shown? To me, if there is a policy of giving the inerstate games to Foxtel, why aren't the Collingwood games?

Collingwood bias curtesy of the AFL.

Also have a look at the Collingwood draw almost every season the compare it to ours. I blame Vlad!... curtesy of kick-backs from Eddie via channel 9...ha ha ha

And now they're looking at changing their Round 22 match from the twilight game on Sunday to a 2nd game on Friday night.

This is why Collingwood never win anything important - because they get it too easy and they only have to bleat and everything is changed to accomodate them. Like spoilt little children - they get nowhere in the end.

To be fair, their game is 4th vs 5th.
Ours is 7th vs 9th.
Which one would you stick on free to air?

Not the point though, this game was always going to be shown on free to air regardless of positions on the ladder.

There's no policy in terms of whether the interstate game gets shown on FTA, or vise versa.

There are two games Sat night, C10 pick the one they want to show (for whatever reason they want) and the other one gets sent to Foxtel. That's the entire system, its not an AFL bias towards Collingwood at all (it might be a network bias, but I digress).

Because channel 10 have been busy blowing their load all week promoting the fact they are showing two live games on Saturday. At 2pm the Saints vs Hawks game from Tassie, and then the Pies vs Crows game from Adelaide.

Would not be able to do this if they showed the Brisbane vs Essendon game and it was being played in Melbourne and they wouldn't have been allowed to televise it live against the gate.

Prefer Foxtel coverage anyway, no ads, better commentators (Hirdy).
I know this is no solution for those who don't have Foxtel but 10's coverage is abyssmal when you have Quarterbrain & the bearded clam waffling on & talking shit.

My understanding is that the telecast 'roster' is set before the season commences - so it isn't a matter of televising the games where the better teams are playing off.
