Thought he did ok today, 13 hitouts and 13 possies I think, but obviously a huge step up against Sandilands (who has to be the most unco looking player in the world) next weekend.
You couldn't fool your own mother on the foolingest day of your life with an electrified fooling machine.
Re: Tom Bellchambers
He did well today, took a couple of strong marks and 13 touches would have to be career best for him so far.
Re: Tom Bellchambers
That was his best game by far. When he went into the ruck he was competitive against the more experienced and harder St Kilda rucks.
Tom we need you next week my boy.

Re: Tom Bellchambers
strange theroy but he will be forced to play his best he possibly can at this stage of his career for the next couple of weeks, who ever he plays on in the ruck will bring him up to their standard i think... i hope

I still think Bradley gets that guersney. Even after his freakishly good performance last week.Ossie wrote:Thought he did ok today, 13 hitouts and 13 possies I think, but obviously a huge step up against Sandilands (who has to be the most unco looking player in the world) next weekend.

Re: Tom Bellchambers
Yep i agree. TB was crucial in the ruck contests after Ryder went off and he well and truely held his own against King and Gardiner. Did some nice things around the ground as well.JumboPaddy wrote:Glad be had him in today! Might have been a different story.
Hooker would be certain to come in to help him out as well.
Re: Tom Bellchambers
Can't expect Bellchambers to get anywhere near even breaking even with Sandilands.
Our midfield will rove to Sandilands taps, just like about every midfield in the comp does. Sandilands is a great ruckman but he is surrounded by an absolute spud of a midfield who simply either can't read his taps or simply don't have to skill to get the clearances anyway.
Having said this we will probably get smashed in the clearances this week.
There is also the case that everytime we've had a massive win one week (think games after Round 3 victory against Blues and the ANZAC Day Clash), we simply have not been able to get mentally right and focused and back up the next week.
Would not be at all surprised if we lose next week given the above and the fact we are absolute poo at travelling, particularly to Subi.

Re: Tom Bellchambers
I wouldn't get too confident about Freeo last week...they are the jekyl & hyde of the comp...seem to be a totally different team at home and we don't travel well...
Also, our outs are HUGE as regards to Fletch & Paddy...for mine, this will be a walkover or a very tough day at the office for the boys...
Finally, I reckon we have to win against Freeo ensure we get the final spot in the eight...

I think the big difference this time is we go into the Freo game knowing that key players are missing - this may have the effect of steeling the guys to try that little bit harderealesy wrote:Can't expect Bellchambers to get anywhere near even breaking even with Sandilands.

Never mind TB....CB your time is now too
Actually; looking at pics of him, CB looks like he may have had TB....I'm sorry, I take that back (very poor taste Pevfan)
And I hope Christian Bock ends up smearing egg all over my face.

Ryder out for three weeks. Looks like big Bellchambers will be our starting ruck if we make the finals.

If memory serves, Bellchambers was our only ruckman fit this time last year. Can't remember of Ryder was playing down back.
Hooker must come in.
Both must get plenty of possessions to beat Sandilands in something.
Aaron Francis is the Messiah.
