All I can say is get a bucket before you read this list

Re: SHOVE IT UP YOUR ARSE AFL ALL AUSTRALIAN SELECTORS
I love how Alan Didak has played 5 good games this year and gets selected yet Jobe has been our most impoertant player all year and dominates his position and clearances most weeks and gets nothing.
Not surprised though it is the same shit every year and in fact I am surprised that Fletch got a nod considering

Probably because the c*nts on the selection committee dont know the names of any other Essendon players so they threw in Fletch just to appease Essendon supporters.bomberdonnie wrote:

Watson has every right to feel agrieved by this snub.

8 from Geelong and 7 from St Kilda....... a lot of media darlings in there
why does everyone hate Essendon so much? anything off-field we never get a look in

This is a good comparison:
Tayte Pears, Essendon. Never previously selected. 22 games in 2009. 155 kicks, 75 marks, 190 handballs, averaging 7.0 kicks , 3.4 marks, 8.6 handballs. 1 Goals 0 Behinds. 3 Clearances, 21 Inside 50m, 70 Rebound 50m.
Simon Prestigiacomo, Collingwood. Never previously selected. 22 games in 2009. 66 kicks, 57 marks, 112 handballs, averaging 3.0 kicks, 2.6 marks, 5.1 handballs. Zero Goals Two Behinds. Six Clearances, Eight Inside 50m, 29 Rebound 50m.

Nice work Royza. I guess the other relevant stat for any defender is goals conceded (if available?).
To be honest, I only reckon Fletch and Jobe are worthy AA considerations; others in our team haven't been as consistently excellent as these two.

Re: SHOVE IT UP YOUR ARSE AFL ALL AUSTRALIAN SELECTORS
Yeah, most stats need to be taken into context. The goals conceded stat would be a good one, but with so many changes during the match would make it hard to record. Presti is a good stopper, but appears he's pretty useless otherwise.
Interesting to note that Hurley is ranked 9th in average contested marks per game. That's after playing his 1st game on Tredrea, & then however many of his remaining 8 games in our dysfunctional forward line.

The All Australian is a joke... as good as Fletcher has been in the games he has played this year Jobe Watson has been by far our best. To not have him in at least the initial squad is disgusting... ![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)

Pears has done better that quite a few of the players selected including all the media's favourite Scarlett.
Re: SHOVE IT UP YOUR ARSE AFL ALL AUSTRALIAN SELECTORS
You've got to laugh at how hard they go to get some guys in the team, a few years back they selected Pavlich at fullback simply to get him in the team.
This year they've somehow selected Dane Swan as one of the 12 forward options, has a very good season, as a f****** MIDFIELDER. For ruck sake the bloke hasn't even got close to averaging a goal a game, and yet they've selected him as one of the forward option.
Absolutely amazing what these f*** tards pull out of their arses.

Dane Swan a forward? lol. He had 700 touches this year, averaging 31 from the MIDFIELD. Makes no sense.
Re: SHOVE IT UP YOUR ARSE AFL ALL AUSTRALIAN SELECTORS
All right, I'm going to have to play the bad guy again.
Watson not in the squad is annoying, but his inclusion would have been borderline if it had happened. He has had a great year but there have been those who have been better than him.
My my reckoning, the following nominees have clearly been better than Watson (Ablett, Bartel, Dal Santo, Hayes, Judd, Montagna, Pendlebury, Selwood, Vince) and the following have had comparable years (Boyd, Didak, Murphy, Sewell). I wouldn't say that any of the nominees have clearly had worse years than Watson. Therefore his non-inclusion, while annoying, isn't the travesty that some on here are making it out to be.
Likewise with Pears. I would say that everyone on the list (with the exception of Fletcher, ironically) have had better years than him.
We'll get AA representation eventually, don't worry. But the real question is, why do we all care so much? Every year we bleat about how its all bullshit and a popularity contest, so seriously, why do we give a f*** when our players don't get selected? Personally, I would prefer that they fly under the radar anyway, particularly given that they are just starting to emerge as key players.
