Jobe all but confirmed captain of EFC for 2010 Season

Post by ealesy »

Just caught the tale end of something on the Footy Show tonight about the club meeting with S.Burgoyne today to convince him to move to Essendon.

I believe there was M.Knights, Paul Hamilton and one Jobe Watson present.

Yep i heard that on SEN this morning... Hamilton, Dodoro, Knighta and Jobe were going to speak with Burgoyne's management.

It seems that the #4 will be captaining the club next year! :D

WIll make a great captain if chosen. Only 24, so would be great to have a steady captain for a number of year. One who will hopefully take us to the next premiership!

If we lose Lovett, Burgoyne more than welcome under Jobe's leadership.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

Would be nice to get something back from Port considering all the players and staff we have sent their way over the years.

Geez it would be nice to have Burgoyne on the list!

Let the body, the hands and the determination do the talking.

If Jobe is annointed - he strikes me as more of the inspirational on field leader (eg Hirdy) than than solid team player who earns respect (eg Maxwell at Collingwood).

Worried that if he is annointed - JW will spend more of the pre-season on media training than footy training ;-)

Cheers - STI

Watto doesn't really need media training at all. He's a natural. He really is a good speaker, and an intelligent one.

Yeah Lloyd was fantastic.

He's been the shittest on field captain we've had in years. Certainly in my time.

Jobe is a natural with the fans as well... one of the most down to earth and most approachable guys at the club!!
