By the sounds of it the club got rid of Lovett. Seems stupid as he was one of our best this year and is a game breaker.

How ironic. I think i wanted him traded at the end of both 2007 and 2008 due to poor form and now after what was probably his best year at the club, it looks like he definitely will be traded. Sounds like a few clubs are interested so we should get a reasonably competitive offer for him, though we're over a barrel with him being uncontracted.

Why the F**k has this happened?

Can anyone point to a reason? Who has the shits with whom?

He is a required player and a key component in our rebulding!!

Haven't been as gutted about losing a bloke since Roger Merret.

We better get something absolutely outstanding for this act of idiocy!

We will end up getting nothing. Lovett has said he is happy to go anywhere so anyone who wants him will let him go into the pre-season draft.

id love to know why Knights has done this! unless he's done a few things this year that was never made public, he's done everything Knights/Essendon has asked of him and single handedly took our game plan up by 20%...

I will seriously be spewing at the club if this was to happen... i cant understand why Lovett wants to leave, if this is all about not getting the $$ he wants then i will be very very disappointed in him. Surely the club is larger than the individual. Not a lot of loyalty going on here.

Burgoyne is a priority now... we need to get someone else with that bit of X-factor now as well. Hopefully players like Reimers and Zaka and a fully fit Davey can take this role next season.

I don't think he want to which makes the decision even worse.

Then why cant he agree with the deal the club must have offered him.... surely if he wants to stay $$ shouldnt be an issue...

Wouldnt mind as much if he went to the Dees... could we do a trade with them instead of letting him go there for free?? Straight swap for Aaron Davey!!

This all seems a bit to cute for my liking. You do not just key players of this calibre just swan out the door with a big hug and a "thanks for the memories"

Keep your ears to the ground for the real story.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

f***'n unbelievable. He's our blueprint for our game plan / style. We now have to find a replacement who can split the guts of the ground and slam home some inspirational goals. I hope we do, so we can stick it up his arse and win a flag in the not too distant future.

Get Burgoyne. Give him the cash - we must have plenty.

Straight swap, burgoyne for lovey, or Davey for Lovett. Come play with little bro.

Davey had a great season, would fit in nicely here.

Something more than meets the eye here is going on. Knighta isnt stupid so I doubt he would trade or be looking to get rid of a player like Lovett.

Pretty disappointed to hear that he will be leaving. Had a great year bar the last few rounds.

I just hope we can end up with something for him. I think that getting Burgoyne to Essendon should be a priority now that Lovey will be leaving.

As mentioned, there must be things behind closed doors which have forced the clubs hand. A fresh start may be then thing he needs, as long as we don;t get screwed over in what we get for him.

After everything the club has done for him - standing by him when he has had his issues in the last couple of years etc - if he wants out he can f*ck right off. Not f*cking happy.

It appears that the club did'nt try extra hard to retain Lovett.
Great talent but inconsistent, he seems to have a troubled mind & as i have mentioned previously that even from the Sheedy days, Lovett, unfortunately has had to have a "minder" to make sure he keeps out of trouble. I heard this from an high ranking official from the club about 2 years ago.
It seems the club has had enough.
Straight swap for Burgoyne would be good.
