Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

Votes V Freo

Post by robbie67 »

haha, how much fun is doing this after that performance.

I dont want to give anyone votes, so here are our 5 least worse players.

5. Hocking
4. Monfries
3. Pears
2. Prismall
1. Stanton

Apologies to no one. Hocking was just the best of a bad bunch.

Didn't see but from what I heard Pears seemed to be the best (though he didn't get a great wrap from the commentary team - they were just saying how shit Pav was playing).

5- Pears (kept us in the game in the first half with some wonderful smothering and spoiling work)
4- Howlett (was the only midfielder willing to kick the ball- has a wise head on young shoulders)
3- Gumbleton (just loved his work ethic and was rapt to see him kick 2 goals)
2- Winderlich (didint have much run but used the ball well)
1- McVeigh (was solid across all areas on the ground)

5. Tayte Pears (gun player)
4. Cale Hooker
3. Heath Hocking
2. Angus Monfries (must nail those easy set shots though)
1. Courtenay Dempsey

Special mention: Ben Howlett (wish all players would show his level of endeavour).

Yeah. He was the second of two reasons why you wouldn't neck yourself after yesterday's performance. Nice first half.

Licha, Dyson, Williams and McVeigh really need to lift if we're going to do anything this year. Not tough enough both physically and mentally...

VERY VERY hard to choose five but here goes...

5. Hocking (at least looked like he was interested)
4. Pears (very solid again; saved our bacon many times)
3. Howlett (really looks like he has come to play)
2. Monfries (didn't set the world on fire but at least kicked 2 goals)
1. Gumby (definitely a positive to see him running around)

Of the others, Hooker & Dempsey were ok in defence though a bit loose at times. Zaharakis showed a bit again.

Can't believe people are giving votes to Stanton & Prismall. They may have accumulated a few possessions, but their use of the ball was atrocious. Missed more targets than U.S. bombings on Afghanistan!!
