horrible feeling we are going to lose this one by 1 point - North to kick a late goal

edit: Thanks Football Gods - I deliberately put the mozza on the Dons only for us to score the goal!!

Thank God

I would hate to think what would have happened to Knighta had we lost that one.

Norths score was the highest losing score for any theam this season

So, even when we win our defense is pitiful

Twice ran down an opponent when they were running into an open goal (some bloke in the 3rd and harvey in the 4th).

They showed some spirit which was nice to see for once, but for f*** sake, our disposal and decision making is nothing short of pathetic.

Pretty good summary, Rossoneri. I just got home from the game, feeling happy that we won the game but worried that our basic faults are still there and therefore any decent team would have blown us away.

I was beside myself in those dying minutes. I never actually relaxed until the clock ticked to the 2 seconds to go mark. When they were chipping it around the backline in the last 30 seconds I was so scared. They really deserved to win tonight and it was great to hear the song.

Jobe Watson was sensational all night and Hardingham was a debut !!!

Fabulous effort tonight. They ran hard, went into packs and played pretty well. Lets enjoy this win. vingertje vingertje

I had a laugh last night. Neither myself nor my old man went last night as my sister was heading overseas so we went to the airport. First game I have missed all year and i hate watching it on TV, but did so anyway.

3 minutes left in the game I turned to my old man and said "this is your fault, I am studying Tax at the moment and I am actually more stressed watching Essendon play than when I have an exam the following morning" And I thought going to the footy was meant for you to get away from your "other" life and relax a bit. YEAH f****** RIGHT!!!!!!!!!! I was shaking for 10 minutes after the match, couldn't send an SMS to a mate at the game.

It was a very open game and I think our defence did quite well. Hurley, Dempsey and Fletcher all had really good performances.
