Good on Ya Fev!!!
Australian forward and 2006 Coleman Medalist Brendan Fevola is to be sent home immediately and will take no part in Sunday's Second International Rules Test against Ireland at Croke Park in Dublin for assaulting a barman at a Galway nightclub on Sunday night (local time).

No, I just dislike the IR and Henneman.
I dislike the IR because they are trying so hard to make it work when they didnt try as hard for the SOO. This IR is just another way for our players to get injured. It doesnt show the true way we play our game. Champions like Cox, Brown and Lloyd arent able to play representative footy because this shit wont allow it.

State of Origin doesn't work because regardless of what they say in theory, most of the truly great players pull out with bullshit injuries. At least in IR, they are now trying to pick teams that can adapt to the rules and win (several members of the current team excepted)
"You can quote me on this... He is gawn" - bomberdonnie re Hurley's contract status 25 February 2012
exactly...glorified end of season footy trip to allow insecure AFL footballers and AFL supporters to feel like the game does have some sort of International part to it!!Rossoneri wrote:he is showing the contempt that this series deserves.
It's a joke of a series and personally I would be surprised if Fev was the only one out on the piss, reckon the majority of the team would've been myself.
Anyway after finishing up the Coleman medalist, showing in the lead up games he's suit to the 'game' to be left out for the first Test why would he feel any obligation to take the series seriously.
Hell the series lost what little credibilty it had when Sheedy said in all seriousness that it would come down to a choice between Fevola and Kepler Bradley as to who would get the last spot in the squad!!
Easily fixed. SOO died because the big name star players were pressured to drop out by their clubs.swoodley wrote:Rossoneri wrote:No, I just dislike the IR and Henneman.

Do what's started to happen with the IR series and select the good upcoming stars of the game, who are passionate and just want to get out their and show what they've got.
Either that or have any AFL appointed medico who has to sign off on all players missing a SOO game due to injury.
If the medico feels the injury is bullshit then the club can choose to let him play, or let him sit out SOO but then also miss the next two club games!!
IR is okay. Its not meant to be an exhibition of the best-of-the-best players. Never has been.
Take it for what it is - a bit of a fun and a chance for players to have the thrill of representing their country.
Just because it isnt an exhibition of the best footy has to offer doesn't mean its necessarily a bad concept. Its never been advertised as such, and the fact that the AFL has moved away from using the AA team as the basis for selection is proof of that.

Read in the Age this morning. Police have investigated and decided not to charge him.lozza89 wrote:If he is charged he has to answer questions to police in Ireland etc..., but if they don't charge him he is coming home on the next flight available. Thats what they were waiting for, to see the decision from the Police.Crowny wrote:Will he be charged or just sent home?
