TV is good and bad - I was going to spend the weekend catching up on lots of work.

Also I'm hoping for a good game from Marigliani. 1 I just want to see him play well, but 2 to give him a shot at a senior game or two this year.

It would also be great if Jetta and Myers can play well again.

You wouldn't have seen much. He only got a few touches. He was playing a negating role on some Coburg hot-shot and got his mention for keeping him quiet.

It was really great to see so many Bendigo boys out there, a lot of players missing from the team including Natrat, Houli, Skippy and the captain Flaherty.
Didn't have Quinny in my best 6.... Grant did give him a good wrap at 3/4 time though, must have done a tagging job for most of the match.

3- Scanlon- brings great experience to the young side especially with Skippy out injured. Got better as the game went on
5- Cloke- dominated in the backline all day and looked dangerous up forward as well
6- Liddle- tackled and chased really hard
7- Jetta- clearly one of the better players on the ground. Tackled and chased and harrassed ALL 4 quarters. Deserves a recall this week.
8- James- handy Bendigo defender, kicked a nice goal as well
9- Duscher- BOG... this bloke puts his head over the footy all the time, rakced up the possies.
10- Holmes- handy small defender, probably came into the side to replace Houli
12- Page- didint get a lot of game time
15- Collins- made a few errors that led to Coburg goals
16- Shinners- fairly quiet, takes a really nice mark
20- Thompson- didn't get much of it
23- Myers- played a great game in the midfield, has a raking left foot kick and dominated the clearances. Kicked 2 great snap goals as well.
25- Still- played really well, marked strongly and tackled hard. Kicked 3 goals.
29- Stroobants- played a really solid game mainly around half forward
36- T.Slattery- worked hard and gave good run out of defence
38- Atkinson- didn't get a lot of it but ran and chased hard
41- Quinn- played mainly in the back half as a tagging defender, didint get a lot of it
44- TB- dominated the ruck, really good tap work to Prizz and Myers
46- Bock- didn't get a lot of game time
47- Marigliani- solid game, drifted in and out of it but ended up with 4 really classy goals.
50- Delahunty- get this boy in the gym but he can definately play. Had a great 3rd quarter, has really strong hands as well.
54- Dennis- barely any game time
56- Prismall- Had a really solid game and had a great attitude as well. Another player Grant praised at 3/4 time

FFS sake Quinn's dad must write the best column. He barely touched the ball and (surprise) looked lost when he had it.

I loved at 3/4 when Grant mentioned some player and Myers said something like "[teammate, didn't catch who] ******* smash the c*** for me".

My thoughts on the Essendon players (I agree with Mrs M mostly)

Jetta - Great game. Not only worked hard, but was going in hard to win the ball in the packs (of which there were many, given the muddy conditions) and was getting it out more effectively than a couple of weeks back at Willy.Must be in this week.

Myers - Should have also been in the best. At 3/4 time had about the same number of possessions as Leroy. Worked hard under the packs, got onto a few loooong kicks and his goals were brilliant.

Prismall - Plenty of the ball, but in the first half was mostly doing those little kicks he does that either go to the other team or at least don't favor our guys and sideways handballs. Started to kick it long in the second half and looked a bit better, one great one that Marigliani marked and kicked a goal from.

Mariglini - Great first quarter goal into the wind. He was being tagged and not having much influence so went forward where he was too strong for his man (great contested mark after the aforementioned Prismall long kick) and got another in the third from a shit free kick. Covered plenty of ground (got a kick in the backline while playing in the forward line in the third quarter and the mikes picked up an F-bomb as he was directing teammates where to go before he kicked) but wouldn't have had too many possessions outside his goals.
Aaron Francis is the Messiah.

The teammate mentioned by Myers after being complimented by Grant was none other than Quinn.
