Countdown to D-Day

Post by Mrs Mercuri »

All attention turns to the draft now... this was on the afl website this morning. Interesting thoughts on what players the clubs may target with their first picks..

Hmmm....very interesting. They suggest Shaun Atley. He's very Jobe Watson like judging by these highlight - even to the point of shanking a kick at goal :P

Looks good. 8)

I'd personally prefer someone like Keiran Harper. Any idea where this kid is likely to go in the draft??

Either someone like Harper who is elusive, creative AND damaging around goal or a bulldozing, quick midfielder thanks.

the best ruckman in the draft(Gorringe) is a bloody good prospect, if he isn't picked high we should really consider him. Also we have lost Laycock and Bock, so our ruck stocks are very thin.

check out some of Gorringe's highlights on youtube and/or speak to a few people who watch the SANFL. might change your mind on picking a ruckman at pick 8.

The tiges might choose him with pick 6 regardless anyhow.

I'm firmly in the "draft the very best player available" category with your first pick. I think you have to be aiming for a superstar.

Brodie Smith. Good pack busting midfielder who captained SA. Should be around come pick number 8 and I say get on him.

I had some AFL accadamy guys down at work the other day (possibly Tony Moorwood??.... but I'm not sure)
They were going through folder after folder of potential draft players and he seemed to think we'd go after Caddy.... thoughts?
