What would you have said?

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

What would you have said?

Post by BERT »

If someone came up to you when West Coast flogged us that night at the Dome and said, "It'll be ok. Next season Hird will be senior coach. He will bring Welly and Wallis back get Brendan McCartney from Geelong and Simon Goodwin from the Crows as his assistants. Oh and we will also get Bomber Thompson back to the club as Hird's mentor."

To Evans and Robson, Well done, Fantastic work.

I cannot fathom it to be honest. I laughed at people when they said we would get Hird and Bomber Thompson, "Wishful thinking!" and didn't think it would happen at all. I would have taken it in a heartbeat. After some initial concerns about appointing an inexperienced coach...he now has the best possible support team to bring the club success in the future. It feels like the days of old, when I was a young kid...I feel that buzz again. Next year is exciting! Can't wait to see a brand new Essendon hopefully! :)

Well put. It's been a huge success and their credibility has risen a million percent compared to that day.
An absolute textbook example of accepting nothing but the best and just getting the job done. Brilliant.

If the on field can be anywhere near as good as the off field it will be a fantastic season.

But I would have said to Sheahan and co at the presser...."Get Fu.ked....the ruthless Bombers are back. Deal with it. Your faggoty nothing Aints, Dogs etc have been artificially been hoisted up the ladder by AFL socialism and we have had a gutful and we will use all our power to get back to no 1. F.ck you all."

I want to see the ruthless Bombers on-field now. =D>

Yeah, hard to know what to say, it has been amazing and all credit to Evans and Robson for pulling of footy's version of the Great Train Robbery

The other club supporters are spitting chips and despising us again - calling Bomber and Hird all sorts of names!!! Like they havent had to put up with other club neanderthals before!!

Its just poetry how we have taken more media post season that the Filth!!!!

Come on guys, Knights and Campo would have done a much better than Hird and Thompson.

I've never even heard of this Bomber Thompson character....

Was listening to the interview on Triple M this morning with Sir James. And Eddie came out and gave a huge wrap to Evan and Robson for what they have done to turn this club back into the right direction.

I really don't think these two guys have received the recognition they deserve for the past 2 months. While all this crap about Knights was unfolding, they were sitting their rubbing their hands together, because they know what they had planned all along. And i dont believe all this crap that Hirdy only knew he wanted to do it the day before he signed. Evan's and Robson would of had this Hird/Thompson deal sewn up from mid year, then worked on getting Welman, McCartney, Wallis and Goodwin. They deserve every single bit of credit for making this happen!

Also on a side note, something interesting Eddie said. Our coaches box next year could just about have the spine of an amazing football team. Wellman, wallis, thompson down back. Goodwin in the middle, jimmy down forward. Bit of football ability in that box.

Just so happy Knights got the sack. Imagine how the numbers would of dropped off next year. Fletcher would of retired, McVeigh, Jetta, Stanton and Myers would of left. We would of given a first round pick for John Anthony or a Andrew Walker.

Great post Moon-face and absolutely correct!

Another thing to ponder............clearly Knighta's days were numbered given the tactical leaking we've seen from the cattery - as disclosed in today's Hun. Bomba was evidently chatting regularly with our leadership about a position for 2011. As many have stated - Bomba did the deal ages ago.

All this proves that we now have some Machiavellian mongrel running the show at the club....bout f***ing time!!!!!!

The ferals from every other team can sook it up all they like - We're on our way!!!!!!
My material isn't very good..Oh...and then there's the bladder problem.

Yeh I was told that Hird and Bomber would sign way back in June I think. But nobody believed me, everyone thought I was delirious on here....haha. Just like to say, I was right :D
