Umpires

Post by ARCN »

Now I know what you're thinking but no I have no problem with the way they umpired.

WHY THE HELL WERE THEY WEARING RED WITH BLACK SHORTS!!!!

how could they screw up that so bad whilst Essendon (red & black), Saints (red, black & white) and brisbane (a varient of red, blue and gold) were playing surely green might have been the better option.

There were at least 4-5 times when our players passed it to an ump and another couple where a player noticeablely almost gave it to an umpire (lonergan before passing to Monfrries for a goal).

Some one definately screwed the pooch here.

We thought the exact same thing as soon as they ran out!
I joked to my Dad "Look, we haven't even reached round one and already the AFL are buggering things up" [-X

I actually liked Razor Ray explaining a decision to Hurley. He was respectful towards him, and didnt talk down to him like that other Aids ridden maggot that has just retired would of.

I was torn when that was going on, Rob. I do not like Ray Ray, I think he's the worst mini maggot in existence... and yet I thought it was good that he took Hurls aside and explained what the umps expected of them.

Still. I just don't like the bastard. So part of my brain felt like he was telling Hurls how to do his job.

i thought Ray was telling Hurley that pushing his own player in the back and taking out the 2 opponents out wasn't the right way, even though he couldn't really pay a free against for it allowing the ball to fall down to hurley out the back of the pack and goaled

IDIOTS. No doubt about it.

Even the Saints had a different jumper for their 2 games.

Makes you laugh about Vlad's insistence on clash jumpers. For the life of me, I cannot fathom why we need them for Richmond games.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark

The Geisch said that they are still waiting on different combinations from their new supplier, Under Armour.

AMen. Particularly these days where mud does not exist on an AFL ground and the TV broadcasts are in HD.

Ray is sadly the best umpire out there, just wish he would shut up for a bit.

Umpires should be forced to officiate in the Nude - no clashes there, except you may mistake Stephen Milne for Razor Rays pubic hair

Showing my age ... but what's wrong with the umps wearing white? (esp if itsthe crappy white polo shirts from the 70's)

Perhaps given the penalties to players for ump contact - Umpires should be constantly in day-glo orange or yellow (just like all tradies) ... no clash there!

If I am not terribly mistaken, they used to wear buttoned, white cotton business shirts with the sleeves rolloed up with white shorts pulled up to their chest
