Danger Game

Post by hillchaser »

Although very winnable Sundays game against the Coasters looms as a danger game in my mind. Watching them last week against Melbourne reminded me that they actually have a good group of players and there is a lot of hardness about their team. Their forwards look very dangerous and I'd be willing to bet that nicnat will go off in this game.. always happens to bombers.

I expect to win but definitely not cocky about this one.

They've certainly improved a lot since last season too and they whooped us last year.

But given our form so far this season we should have a good win.

All games are danger games. WC are a big team, & in reasonable form.
They have players who can kick the ball a mile, win the contested ball, & are keeping the ball inside F50 as well as anyone.
Their forward line is looking dangerous with Darling & Kennedy. Their midfield is good with Priddis playing well, Kerr finding form, & Cox doing his usual job.
A bonus for us is that Le Cras could barely kick the ball last week. I also think that WC won't be able to put 4 qtrs of good footy together.
Their wins don't look overly impressive: 4 points at home v Norf, 18 points away v Port, & their best effort being last week's 54 point win against a crap Dees effort.
They lost at home to Syd by 13, & away to Dawks by 7 (apparently a good effort).

Maybe Hocking to limit Priddis (HH won't have to worry about standing Le Cras this time). Our ruck combo needs to put in a good effort against Cox & Nicnat.
Our pace should be too much for them, as long as we don't butcher the ball. Getting Fletch back after a rest strengthens us further.

Give NicNat a Paddy whack in the shoulder as he is carrying an injury there and hasn't been training much.

If we are to be a serious contender this year, then this is a must win game.

They have a really good press too, which worries me greatly with NLM and Hooker.

given they beat us 3 times last year, they offer pretty tasty odds at the TAB.

That's right.

This is another chance for us to make Etihad our cauldron once again.

The way we have played over the last 5 years every game is a danger game.

The way we have played so far this season we should beat them.

Into $1.18 on the books.. wouldn't touch that with Filthy's inheritance money.

I believe it's a danger game for THEM too.
They kicked the shit out of us last year and it was humiliating. The coaching staff we have now will get them frothing at the mouth ready to correct that come Sunday.
Get set for a very high level of intensity in the first quarter.

West Coast are massive overs

This is the first game of the year that we should definitely win so I am very nervous about how we will go

I'm told (friend of a friend that knows someone that knows...) that Hird used next weeks game as as incentive to finish the game with momentum v GC. "Imagine you're playing West Coast, and imagine you need to finish the game out running hard and sticking to the game plan." Or something like that.

After the ES thrashing they handed us last year, we have something to prove.

A 32 point margin is a thrashing?

I know we were downright horrible that night but it wasn't exactly a thrashing.

This is a typical game that we have dropped in the past. If we are to be taken seriously as contenders, we have to with these games.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark
