He's a slow mover. He's a slow thinker. Those two things combined spells trouble for any AFL footballer.

Rather awful. He is terribly lacking in composure compared to where a footballer with his experience level should now be.
I think fan patience may be running out. When he ran to the bench after that big mark and goal I think about 5 people clapped for him as he came off the field.

He's still only a boy....give him time. He will be a very good player.

Evidence of that? He's just not that good. There's nothing in the way he plays to suggest he's going to be a 200-game player.

It was a great mark and goal this week. Seems to know where the goals are but only 11 possies again. We are struggling in the midfield and we can't afford to carry someone that's only good for 10 - 15 touches a week. Melksham doesn't have the frame to get the hard ball and this is supposed to be his strength. He's too slow to be an outside runner and doesn't have the tank for that role. This week we are likely to get Zaharakis and Stanton back, they will probably drop Lee and/or Lonergan whilst Melksham gets another reprieve.

Id prefer him dropped but the coaches obviously rate him and think he is better suited in the seniors so we'll have to go with it and hope he has a good pre-season and puts on some more weight

bottom line is Hirdy and Bomber arn't stupid and if not Hirdy then Bomber will sure know who can make the cut and who can't so lets see how we go against Carlton this week, if the players can't get themselves up for this game then yes we have serious issues in the boys heads

fitness is one thing but if you really want it enough you will push yourself until you throw up

Monfries came on late in the 3rd last week and within 10 mins of game time he had hands on hips and looked disinterested, that aint a fitness issue, the club is down on confidence, in themselves or scared of being injured who knows

I just hope the club are doing something to get the boys minds off footy for a while

Apprently Hammo wants him dropped but it's that prick from the crows Goodwin that insists his picked every week. At the end of the day the majority rules.

He'll get another 100 games, at least. And why not? Monfries, NLM etc. have made it to 150 games, and they're no better (i'd argue they're worse).

Come on Hirdy and Bomber.
Do half your job and drop him.
Do what you are really paid for and get rid of him.

The thing about him is he is consistantly shit, only 12 possies again today. This is what he gets almost every week. We are pretty much half a midfielder down because of this.

Sure we are getting games into him but at what cost. Lee who has only played 2 games showed more fight and determination than Melksham has all year. We would of been better off getting games into him.

If he has one more preseason/season with us, lets hope he makes Jobe Watson his best mate at the football club and finds a way to turn himself into a good footballer.
