Themed Weekends = Any Ideas?

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

Themed Weekends = Any Ideas?

Post by Windy_Hill »

We have Heritage Rounds, Rivalry Rounds, Indigenous Rounds etc

What other ideas could the AFL introduce to spice up a round of football??

Perhaps a "No Flooding" Round or a "No Keeping's Off" Round. That should guarantee top quality footy. But that would cause Richmond to have a bye......

How about a "stop these f****** stupid rule changes, hire some competent administrators who are capable of running the game properly, and stop f****** the game up" round?

The expression "best on ground" might take on a whole new meaning!

On that theme... when they play intra clubs, with the skins... I'm quite partial to that.

As long as Smokie is on the Skins team!

"Polak, Thurstans and Gardiner" Round.

All games played at night with dim seedy lighting.

I think the whole concept of themed weekends is stupid.

The "No Anderson or Vlad Round", alternatively the "No Bullshit Round", sounds good to me. That would boost attendances.

Disagree

Heritage Round is fun, ANZAC week is a highlight, Indigenous Round a terrific idea

My question however, completely stupid

yes they are GREAT rounds but they will lose all credibility if you have bullshit rounds every week ie UMPIRES round... worst excuse for a weekend of footy.

In moderation these things are a great idea, but yeah they lose their impact if every week is something different.

It's not as if Anzac week was an AFL idea, without Sheeds there'd be nothing.

Mothers, Ladies, Umpires, Volunteers and Country weeks are all just going a bit too far for my liking.

However I dont mind Heritage week.
