I reckon Pendlebury would win the award today if it was presented.

Ryder would be second.

Pendlebury played well today but Ryder has had a better season so far IMO

Pendlebury will be a great player. He would be up there in the NAB and would be a deserving winner.

Paddy would be in front now. He is a gun. He will get better and better.

Scott Pendlebury averages-

19.5 possession per game (62% contested)
6.2 Marks per game (17% contested)
3 Tackles per game
9 goals in 8 games

Paddy Ryder averages -

11.4 possessions per game (27% contested)
5.25 Marks per game (22% contested)
2.75 tackles per game
4.25 hitouts per game
2 goals in 8 games

It'd be a split vote decision I reckon at this stage, Pendlebury is absolutely all class and so far is having much better years that the guys drafted before him (Murphy, Ellis, Thomas, Kennedy)

Paddy's been fantastic but has often played loose down back where as Pendlebury has often been given "run with" or tagging roles with the likes of Judd, West and Stants.

I'm still leaning towards Pendlebury just - but it is only round 8.

As long as people don't get sucked into the Hype of the Tom-A-Who then I'll be happy!

Their respective dreamteam points thus far: Pendlebury 782, Ryder 671. Usually a good guide as to how a player's travelling...

Go Paddy!

I tell you that Shaun Higgins from the Doggies is bloody handy & a dangerous goal kicker - will get the award this week for sure.

I don't really care who they award it to. Paddy Ryder is the best young talent in the competition by a mile. There are no other 19 year olds in the competition that you'd even contemplate switching between CHB, CHF and the ruck during one game.

He is a freak.

Pendlebury and Selwood are fantastic young players but they've nowhere near the potential.

Stats don;'t tell the whole story though. Pendelbury plays through the middle, probably on no-one. Ryder plays in defence whee he has to man up and in the ruck, very hard for a young guy.
Aaron Francis is the Messiah.
