All this talk about fat goal posts???????????????

If the goal posts had no padding I reckon the ball would have still hit the post. It bounced sideways after it bounced in the square.

That's the way it goes. Suck **** Sydney.

It should of been ruled out...but wasnt.

Hence the goal stands. Not Essendons problem.

Suck shit Sydney

IF, and only if those complaining are after a 100% accurately adjudicated goal. then they need to embrace technology such as video replay etc.

otherwise, no amount of umpires will make a difference.
both of mcphees feet were outside the line, so obviously the ball was when he kicked, the umpire was 5-10m away and didnt call it in the heat of the action. thus, it happens.

nobody was robbed of a match and im sick of us winning and the media looking for excuses why we shouldnt have won.

live with the fact that we have a good list of young players, a strong defence and a champion in hirdy who is hungry to win like ive never seen before.
we will win games. live with it...otherwise you and your petty vendettas will lead a very sad existence.

If my memory serves wasn't a fairly dubious free paid against Smokie in their goalsquare, giving them a gimme goal?

Why aren't I hearing about that?

Also the one where they ruled it deliberate out of bounds in the first qtr.

Funny how that one turned around later in the match!

At least they let him back in quick smart and not halfways around the ground like half of us that made it up there. Getting in wasn't the easiest thing to do! :)

I take it you were sitting where I was then. On the concourse, under the Bradman Stand? It was quite a maze they sent us on ay?

Yep, but next to the demo site. I felt I'd been on a tour of the local environs and facilities!

I echo those sentiments. Didn't see it, don't want to, don't care. A win's a win and any win interstate is a bonus. Helps make up for THAT loss late in 1996.

At the end of the day the goal had to be kicked. Bad luck Sydney.
