sheedy has me worried

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

sheedy has me worried

Post by Jazz_84 »

the last few weeks he has stayed focused on the club and we have won 4 straight and now he is back to his old ways talking about other issues like state of origin again.......

i just lost 15% confidence about this game on that alone, am i over-reacting??

Over reacting. He may just be trying to keep media focus off the team.

I wouldn't worry. Sheedy can be asked a very specific question about a particular player or game and he somehow always ends up miles off topic by talking about Bill Stephens, Merv Neagle or Ian Stewart.

He has a very wandering, tangential way of thinking to say the least.

just bringing up the notion of SoO in general i think, he wants it once every 2 or 3 years, he was in Hobart and maybe he got asked about his thoughts or something

Fair enough.

What was he doing in Hobart of all places.

Hey, not having a go at Hobart, but it's about as much an AFL backwater as you can get.

What I hate is when he starts talking about the opposition and pumps them up...I think it promotes self doubt within the team...like when he pumped up Franklin...and he kicked 9...focus on the fact that we've won 4 in a row and we should win 5 in a row this week if we play hard at it bold attacking footy.

Saw him in Kosina's cafe (Napier St Essendon) this morning, having breakfast on his own. I said gidday when he walked in. If I'd known he was on his own I'd have asked him to join me and then grilled him on footy stuff for the next 30 mins. I bet he's spewing he missed that...

I've lived in Melbourne my whole life but have never "run into" any member of the current Essendon player group or staff (except for at VFL games, training etc)

Truth be known though, I probably don't move in the right circles. :)

I've had the fortune of having the bloke bowl his leggies in the nets where I used to play cricket at Abderfeldie Park. Our ground is right next door to the athletics track, and that's where the Bombers were doing a bit of pre-season stuff back in 1991/92. Sheeds came over and asked if he could roll his arm over......as if we'd say no! He bowled well too....

I live and work in the area so I see them all the time.

Usually I am star struck (not bad for a 43 year old) - but last year I had the sads with them after two months without a win, so when I was in the Village Chef and virtually the whole team was there I deliberately ignored them! : )

It was a classic day because no. 1 on my sh*t list was Capt Hille and guess who came up and asked if he could take the spare seat at my table? I thought of heaps of smart things to say later on, but at the time just mumbled 'OK'!

My mates declared me officially 'weak as p*ss'

I didn't get to face him, I had already had my net session :x . Still had a good chat bowling with him. He enjoyed the 20 odd minutes just stuffing around with us. He enjoys his cricket.
