With 7 weeks to go, who wins the flag?
Geelong: Favourites and sentimental favourites I would think.
Hawthorn: Super side but have no finals experience. If they finish 2nd they are a big chance to make the GF and anything can happen. Hawthorn are doing an Essendon 1993 at the moment.
Port Adelaide: Too inconsistent to be a genuine threat. Have some super players, but they don't have a Tredrea turning it on every week anymore.
West Coast: Best side since Brisbane 2001-03. Injuries are their only worry. If they get to 2nd and get the home final they've got one foot in the GF.
Kangaroos: Good but not great. For some reason, I just can't see the Roos winning the flag. They give everything every week, but they just lack superstar game-breakers.
Sydney: Could be dangerous... hard to judge Sydney.
Collingwood: Have really f**ked up the last few weeks. No chance.
Brisbane: Good and tough, but far too reliant on Brown. No chance.
St Kilda: Good team but if they limp into the finals, they will be knocked out straight away.
Bulldogs: Gone. No chance.
Adelaide: AFL's most boring football side. No chance.
Fremantle: Left their run too late. No chance.
Essendon: LOL!
Geelong will play either Hawthorn or West Coast in the GF.
I am a sucker for sentimentality in sport. I hope Geelong win the flag because it would be fitting and they thoroughly deserve it.
I really don't want to see West Coast win it again cos they are a pack of arrogant knobs. And if Hawthorn won it, most of my mates would turn into a bunch of arrogant knobs.

I'm backing the Sunds. I have said it before that I compare them to the Spurs in the NBA. Their whole season is a build-up to the Finals. they sneak under everyone' guard adn bring the goods once FInals hit.
I refuse to put any faith into Geelong becasue they have a history of falling short. (Against Brisbane adn then Sydney).

hard to pick between Geelong and West Coast at the moment...
Geelong seem to be far stronger as a whole but if West Coast rips through their midfield then it's anyones game

Geelong are streets ahead of everyone and to tgis stage have had the most crucial aspect of winning a flag....a good run with injuries.
As long as their injury list stays relatively small, they should romp through.

i disagree, I think the swans are playing good tight football, but I also believe that WC/Geelong are a class above.lozza89 wrote:Sydney will win the flag.
Again for the 3rd season in a row have flown under everybody's radar's, and they aren't playing too bad of footy.
Either sydney vs west coast AGAIN
or sydney vs cats.
if there is one team under the radar its North, Laidley has them playing great hard committed footy. the sort IMO will hold up under finals pressure.
for me the order of the top 8 and after the finals it should be:
Cats
WC
North
Hawks
Swans
Pies
Saints
Lions
With the best team outside the 8 being Freo.
as for us, well the dons are better than they are playing, but thats expected due to injury and the prolonged sacking of the coach.
I predicted Geelong as this years premiers before season start, and wish I had put money on it at the time.

Cats - 2007 is their season to prove if they're the real deal. As has been said, if they don't win this year, they never will.
Eagles - Not at their absolute best, but still OK. Hard to see them not coming good come finals.
Swans - I think they'll find it tough. Must finish top 2, but I think they'll have a fight on their hands with Port Adelaide and Wet Toast. Even the Hawks and Kangaroos will make it tough for them.
Having said that - hard to see the winner not coming from Geelong and West Coast.
