essendonfc.com.au is reporting he'll undergo a fitness test tomorrow. Guess tomorrow we'll find out if he's good to go or not.

Judging by this report - its still line ball so obviously the calf isn't as bad as people think.
Maybe its just not ready to go this week, and another week on the track and rehab will get him up for the Richmond farewell game.
Put it this way, i'd rather him miss this week against the scum and save himself for his last farewell appearance than to re-injure against a side thats cursed us for years.. That would be the worst way to say goodbye i reckon.

And according to the AFL site. I hope the great man plays. I want to see that famous #5 run out onto the 'G tomorrow.dom_105 wrote:Looks like he might play on the weekend, according to Channel 10.
If he plays, which I think he will, I'll have a lot more confidence about the game. I think he'll bring something to the game, he'll put in a blinder and show 'em how it's done. Maybe he'll say to some of the guys - this is how it's done, take a good long look.
James Hird is an absolute legend of the game. The younger guys (and even some of the more "experienced" players) need to be taking a good hard look at him. Who knows? One of them could very well be the next James Hird. Now I'm not saying the younger guys are duds or anything - a lot of them have a lot of potential and pretty much every player who has debuted this year has shown some good signs and even some of the less experienced players have shown a lot. They just need to be played and in the positions they're suited to. I think the entire team can learn a lot from Sir James and the time to do so is limited.
