What is Essendon's best winning streak against a single club?
Re: Anyone for a quiz?
Hawthorn in the early days? they were pretty hopeless. 9 wins?robrulz5 wrote:What is Essendon's best winning streak against a single club?

Nope. This one is a hard one so I'll say higher or lower whenever anyway says a number. It's a higher number and a diferent club.dom_105 wrote:Hawthorn in the early days? they were pretty hopeless. 9 wins?robrulz5 wrote:What is Essendon's best winning streak against a single club?

I think it may be St. Kilda during the 80's (or even Melbourne). But I say the Saints, and 18 wins on the trot.

Lower.
Re: Anyone for a quiz?
OK, I reckon I know the year - 1994. I was there at one game where the Saints kicked something ridiculous like 20 goals 2 behinds to beat us by a kick (Sean Denham was sensational). Not sure if that was the game that broke the sequence, but I'll give it a go. I reckon the streak started with Sheedy's reign in 1981, and playing them twice, would mean 13 years worth of wins (26).

Re: Anyone for a quiz?
St kilda. 23 wins
Re: Anyone for a quiz?
Correct. 23 wins in a row against St.Kilda between round 17, 1944 & round 9 1957. They finally beat us for the first time in 26 matches in round 2 1958. Before the first win in the sequence there was a draw and a win before that.azza78 wrote:St kilda. 23 wins
The streak you are thinking of BD was 20 between round 7 1981 and round 10 1991.
