Dermott Brereton received the first free kick of the game in both GF's..... or perhaps Brereton had the first kick in the 84 GF while Matthews kicked the first goal, and Matthews had the first kick of the 85 GF while Brereton got the first goal.

They always seemed to get ridiculous free kicks against us, so it has to be something to do with that for sure.

Correct. Brereton recieved the first free kick in both games. Both from high tackles after an Essendon player getting him around the neck.

OK, for you young dudes out there, the 2000 Qualifying Final versus Kangaroos (where we blitzed them by 125 points), Matthew Lloyd brought up his 100th goal of the season early in the last quarter. Who kicked it to him?

South Melbourne also traded Neale Daniher along with Terry with that trade. One of the biggest blunders in trade history. Neville Fields also returned to the club 3 seasons later.
