Further clues....

1. Tracker - player of 1890's & 1900's (ruckman in our first premiership)
2. Nipper - player of the 1920's & 1930's (a goal kicking machine)
3. The Turk - Tommy Lahiff
4. Kookaburra - Alec Epis
5. Racehorse - player of the 1940's (think of a grandstand)

Some more....a couple of simple ones amongst them.....

1. The General - James Hird
2. Nifty - Neville Fields
3. Bronco - Gary Grainger
4. Whimpy - Barry Grinter
5. Undies - Andrew Underwood

The General isn't Sir James is it? I recall it being used by commentators in an ANZAC game.
