Sack the coach?

Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

This whole thread is ridiculous. Hird has been there for 8 months. Knights was there for 3 years plus his time in the club prior to that.

I totally disagree with the sentiments expressed by Bomber_Fan.

The only thing I can say about the coaching panel is that perhaps there is an intimidation factor that is unsettling the group to such an extent that they appear to be scared of their own shadows. However certain players are standing up and have for the vast majority of the season. Heppell, Hocking, Hardingham, Zaharakis, Howlett, Lonergan, Watson and Jetta. These guys seem willing and able to put their arse on the line and play with a good modicum of daring-do.

Pears looked to be regaining some form last night and Stanton played a very good second half.

"....a good modicum and daring-do"

You'll travel a long way and read a great deal of shite before you come across a better turn of phrase - or perhaps a band name.

Settle down MH. I was putting the question out there because it's a matter of time before others start to ask the question and I wanted to know what others thought.

in my opinion the single greatest problem we have is fitness. we are not fit enough and haven't been for 5 plus years to compete week in week out.

a complete overhaul of our strength, conditioning, aerobic capacity, pace training has to happen first. we have to stop this bull shit we have seen over the last few years where we can play 3 quarters out of 4, or like this season about 8-9 rounds to a decent level and then look like we are jogging on the spot.
bump.

sorry - had to bring this up again. how come we have not improved our fitness in the year or so since I made this post?

we are f****** amateurs.

He coached a side that had one of the best defences and attacks in the comp for half a season.

I believe he can coach. The players are rooted. Can't execute.

Was it not you in the Dempsey thread who attacked us for bagging players?

Aren't you doing the same thing by agreeing with a little ripped here?

No, little ripper wasn't abusing or bagging the players... just saying it as it is.. the players are stuffed and just can't execute at the moment.. whats wrong with that?? He wasn't calling for their heads or verbally attakcing them....

When will people sit up and realise that yes a few players need to go but the Majority will be OK.
We are totally spent due to a gruelling pre season which has well and Truly caught up with us.
Injuries have destroyed Essendon in 2012. New home can't come fast enough...
People don't seem to remember earlier on in the season.
We have been shot ever since that stupid bloody away jumper.
Yer how about I start talking crap too. Sack the coach, sack that player Weapon has self destructed us.... He is shit blah blah blah.
I wonder I really wonder will people have the balls to admit they were wrong when we stand up in 2013???
Hmmm...
Hirdy and Bomber will get it right.
Mark my words...
Bag me too... I don't give a rats...I bleed the Red and Black and always will...
Ps. No offence Megan just sick and tired off the garbage that is spread.
So easy to do it on a computer though...
Hurting Yes. Embarassed too.But I still hold the Faith...

thats all well and good stryper - the question is will we ever learn?
are we going to put in another massive pre-season that will have us "April Premiers" - but then fall in the shit like we have done the last two years?

sometimes it takes a while to get it right.
I believe that Knighta got us to be a fantastic fitness side except we use to always fade out especially the last qtr.
Problem being with very little Body conditioning.
Hirdy comes on board with Bomber and says Lets toughen them up.
They need to build bigger stronger bodies that will enable them to run games out.
Enter the Weapon and Flight Plan...
I need this done in half the time. We have a new home to build and we need Essendon people to be excited.
eg. first nine weeks - awesome football overall... exciting hard tackling pressure pressure pressure...
Then comes the crunch.
Injuries hit due to the players becoming fatigued. Confidence dissapears... start losing players week after week...
Ok lets stop training them and ease right off.
Damage has been done. In much worse shape than was thought...
Jobe also trained with the Weapon and only now is he showing signs of fatigue.
Thank God only 1 more week to go...
difference is Jobe built himself up Was always on the bigger side and trimmed down.- now a machine...
Give these boys another pre season - they are much bigger, fitter and stronger now and 1 more I believe will do the trick...
Fatigue causes Injury get real body conditioning and just like Magic injury ceases too...

After 10 years I am still here, and I am still right. It's f*** heads like you who vanish. But hey hang around to 2030 or however it long it takes, one day in the next century you may be able to say you are right.
