Talk about everything Essendon. Past, Present and Future if it's about the Bombers this is the place to be.

Interesting though if we take 2000 & just look at 2001 onwards. We always play twice a year, & I haven't gone back to check the record books.

2001 - they beat us twice
2002 - we beat them twice
2003 - one all
2004 - one all
2005 - one all
2006 - they beat us plus one drawn game

So in the last 6 seasons when we have been generally a much stronger club then them, they are one up on us.

It's a bit like our last 5 or 6 years against the Roos, who we haven't beaten since 2001. Everyone thinks we are a shoe in to finish above the Roos this year, but surely we have to start beating them on a regular basis for this to happen.

& against Collingscum:

2001: won by 8 & 20.
2002: lost by 33 & won by 55.
2003: won by 66 & lost by 16.
2004: won by 33 & 34.
2005: won by 14 & 26.
2006: lost by 17 & won by 13.

We finished higher than them in '01, '04 & '05.
Managed to split the wins in the yrs we finished lower.

For the Vic sides it's a derby match every time they play each other. Probably the main reason why the non-Vics have dominated the top spots. Win nearly all home games with their massive advantage, then win a couple away & your set up for a top 4 spot.
