We have definitely been smashed in the middle all season (no Hocking & Myers hurts) but I also worry about the TBC / Daniher combo. Giles would probably be a liability at this point too so their isn't much we can do at this point. I've mentioned it at a certain point every game this season, 'gee we miss ryder'. Only way I see us losing is Swan and Pendles dominating out the middle. Our speed will trouble them.

ps was it last year (or the previous) when Dempsey returned from injury to play his first game of the season on anzac day and made a few blunders and looked out of sorts?
Yeah, think he came on as a sub.

If they're playing well they deserve a run in the 1's......Hams best on 2 weeks running. Agree with Hop that Ashby needs a full game.

If we didn't have this stupid sub rule would think either Giles/McK would be on the bench to give TBell a chop out and keep the side balanced and not top heavy. Even "Company Man" Roos banging on about how stupid it is today.

Both Zacha and Buckets ha scans on knee and hip respectively......doubtful apparently. Hopefully Buddha has a run in the 2's this week....desperately need him in close.

You have said elsewhere that you only watch one game a week, so how would you know?

It's the biggest game of the home and away season. We should debut someone. Maybe Laverde?

Anyone know if Zacca and Carlisle are o.k. after both having knee/ankle? problems after playing Carlton?

What about Hams?

Here's one from left field.

I do not believe that we are getting enough out of Ambrose on the forward line. This year, for instance, he has not worried the scorer and although I believe that he will make at as a regular player, I don't reckon he is there yet.
I would bring in Pears in his place for the following reasons.
1. It's about time we got a return from Tayte. He has had a shocking run with injuries, but he and the club has persevered and he is showing good form in the twos as a forward (3 goals against the Zebs)
2. He is a big bodied player with a good degree of mongrel about him, just enough to unsettle some of those young filth punks.
3. Until his run of injuries, he was the leading light of the new chums on the backline and was spoken in terms of eventually replacing Fletch (in 2020!)

He is fit and showing some good form.

Why not???

Rocky....would not be surprised if Ambo is not one of first picked. His pressure, tackling, aggression and pack breaking is priceless. Imagine him and Kommer side by side.....aget would rarely leave the fwd line ....well not without some bruising of the opps.

Tayte only played his first game for the year last week and is not allowed to run more than 9kms. Nowhere need Senior fit.

I agree, get rid of the sub rule.
Me too.

I'd bring Hams in for CoonDog and if Zachariah doesn't get up, Dempsey in as well.

I doubt Pears is ready to play yet and I'd like him to put together at least 4 or 5 good games as a forward before being picked as one. Pressure, tackling and aggression is not priceless, it is worth very little if you can't get the f****** ball. Him and Kommer side by side would combine for about 8 kicks.

Giles was also good this week, so he could be a chance if they don't want Ambrose in.

You'd have to think Giles in for Carlisle if Buckets doesnt get up

He and TBC could rotate through Full Forward

Zaka ran freely yesterday and Carlisle should also get up

I expect Cooney is the only change, be good to see Hams get the gig but I feel Dempsey will

Great that Hams is back; shame about Ashby.

Hopefully Dempsey is the sub. Or they spring a surprise and ditch the rule altogether tomorrow.

I'm glad Dempsey is back. We need more pace.
