Here's the thing.

If we lose to Carlton then it is clear that the rebuilding process is still underway. A young team will win a few and just as easily lose a few. Often, the standard of the opponent is not the reason. Its a development process, a learning curve.

I wouldnt be too phased about Carlton or any other team.

We should be keeping the targets for this year at a realistic level.

1) 10 Wins would be a great improvement
2) Establish a fresh game plan
3) Induct 3-4 new players into the top 22
4) Give 3 or 4 draftees a taste of the action.

Obviously a win over the Scum would be a great thing for all concerned but lets not jump at shadows here. This paranoia about Carlton is stupid. Lets focus on the continuing development of the team and should they not win this coming weekend, remain positive and not bag the team.

If the past two weeks are anything to go by, then we need to bring some lubrication because we will bend the over and destroy the f*** out of them.

Im actually confident at the this point in time. The key for them is Stevens. If Slats/Pev/Heff can play the rotating role and shut him down, we will cane them.

Dont worry about the chin. He got some soft free kicks in the NAB cup, and our boys have learnt from those hands in the back rule. We have barely been pinned for that, apart from the odd time yesterday when Pavlich was going to take the mark anyway, so Fletch just chopped the arms, made him earn it.
