There is so many.
I love how Dyson has the balls to take the opposition on with his leg speed.
Monfries has so much courage.
Johns with his strong marking ability and improved kicking.
Stanton can run for days.
Lovett has that special something.

Then you have Nash, L-Murray, and a few others.
Our list will be great in a few years.

Monfires, Ryder and Dyson have the most scope to be special players.

I agree with all the ones listed so far. There are a lot of things to look forward to over the next 2 or 3 years. Also, Jolley - no one has mentioned him yet. We haven't seen much of him yet, but he looks like he has plenty of grunt.

Sorry, Filthy. I must have missed that. Anyway, being Billy Duckworth, naturally I like players with a bit of grunt!!

Monfries is going to be a special player. His courage (often bordering on recklessness) reminds me of Gavin Wanganeen in his early days. Specifically, the way Monfries throws himself into packs reminds me of a brilliant mark Wangas took in a H&A match against West Coast in 93. Im sure some here would remember it.

Yes, I remember it well. I was going to mention Monfries too. Lots of guts. Just needs to read the play better - this will probably come with experience and good coaching. We need a forward coach! TD??

Dyson - Quick, great disposal, runs through the lines.
Stants - Unbelievable runner, great endurance, accurate long kick, good 1 on 1.
Monfries - Couragous, gets heaps of contested possesions, goalsneak.
Watson - Gets alot of contested ball, fantastic vision, best hands in the afl.

I am somewhat removed from the action so I have to base my comments on a few video highlights and media reports.

I see guys like Watson and Stanton as being essential components of the midfield mix given their capacity to attract he ball. Watson for his in and under work and Stanton for his ability to run to position.

Monfries is your hard at em rover type player. Am I wrong in saying he is a little reminiscent of a Dale Weightman type player or Adrian Gleeson?

Johns actually feels like he could be a new Roger Merrett - big brash physical presence across the half forward line. Another full pre-season and he really could be a major factor going forward.

Laycock needs a bit of luck - I feel he is the tall version of Dean Rioli givene his run of injuries. I think he has a touch of class but would like to see him developed as a Jackovich type CHB. The sort of guy that can out muscle the Reiwoldts, Pavlichs, Browns and HAlls.

So for me its Stanton, Watson, Monfries and Laycock

Love Gus, the way he throws his body in to the action with no regards for personal safety is great to watch. Plenty of skill and footy smarts, too.

And I really wanna see Dempsey do well, simply 'cos he hails from my home town and there haven't been too many. Plenty of potential and electrifying, just hope he can go on with it
