MH_Bomber wrote: Sat May 04, 2024 11:35 am I fully expect to lose. West Coast are very capable and with the wonder boy Harley Reid back we are going to have to be playing our absolute best to beat them.

Brad Scott’s pronouncements about Tarryn Thomas were disgraceful. This on a week where we are trying to focus to prevent violence against women he calls a recidivist misogynist “a good bloke”. Kind of puts a damper the minute silence.

Weideman in for Draper? Is that plan?
Scott seems to be making a play for Thomas (though Scott seems to want anyone with a glimmer of ability at North that he coached)

Though he is the sort of player we need, I don't think he is the sort of person we want at the club.

Perhaps we should put it to the Women's team to make a decision... I think it would be a pretty unanimous vote.

Anyone??
Good question!
Scott seems to favor anyone over the age of 25.

If Goldy was a bit suspect, Bryan should have been the emergency

If Perkins or Jones (I can't believe his smashed nose isn't an issue) were suspect - Shiel (remember him) should have been in front of the Weed.

All a bit bemusing. And a bit early in the year for a farewell game for Weiderman.

Missed it due to Match Day Duties that extended over 2 1/2 Games and TV remote at Home is out of my hands,so had to make do with brief Radio Commentary and scorechecks on the way home and up until recent moments.

Too close for my liking and wondered if lightning was going to Strike twice in the Draw department.Thank heavens it wasn't or Worse,we Completely Blew it and Lost to that lot!

So now the hype over here is dulled!

We just don’t win easy.

We had a 9 day break, they had 6.

Should Jones have played?

Davey needs a spell.

Thank goodness for Zed!

Yay we won.
That's it.

Votes: 3 - Cripps, for reversing the kick to Waterman.

Hi de hoooooo! What a humdinger

Incredible that the two Anzac Day teams played in a draw last week, both went onto win by 6 points the following week. Imagine if both went onto playing draws!

Good to get a win over there.

Captain Zach was outstanding. He is cruising along to Crichton #5. He simply sunk the saus tonight. Great skippah.

How good Bull Durham! Lots of sizzle from the Duzzzz 8)

Kudos to Doc Martin, Kylos, Dizzy Parish, and Pidgey McGrath on a solid effort.

If it wasn’t for a Geelong lapse, we would be in the top 4 ](*,)

Turn the tap and let it flowwww

Jones - 3 Kicks, 3 HP with 3 clangers - clearly gunshy

Davey - 2 Kicks, 2 HB, 1 tackle. with 1 clanger. Spent 41% of the time on the bench. You could argue he had an extended spell on the bench.

In hindsight - probably shouldn't have played these two.

But who should have come in for them... Weed?

While it was close - you have to consider we had 22 scoring shots to their 16.

Most of the behinds we kicked were from set shots. Only one behind was rushed.

This needs to improve.

Davey needs to go in for scans.
To see if there's any marks on his body at all.
Softest footballer I can remember.
Literally moves sideways to swing an arm at someone instead of going straight at them to lay a tackle.
I'd actually take Weideman as a replacement for him - there is literally no-one on our list that could produce less. He adds nothing.
If you can, watch the replay - at about 14m to go in 4th Qtr Merrett has the ball in the middle. Davey in heaps of space at the top of the 50. Davey turns his back to Merrett and RUNS AWAY to the left of screen.
WTF??

I wouldn't be so harsh if he bobbed up and kicked some goals, or looked even remotely like an elusive, dangerous, small forward - but he does none of that either. So what does he actually provide?

A guy named Shiel.

Even if it was to plonk him as a small forward the entire game.

As for a Jones replacement… Caddy.

Woeful.

What is it exactly that the Essendon nuffies (and even some media “experts”) saw in the Davey’s pre-draft?

The carry on suggested we’ve got two absolute rippers.

Obviously Jayden has an excuse… but wow… Junior looks like he’s way out of his depth.

If I recall ... the hype came from Dorodo.

Do you remember him? ... If you don't, then check out the footage from the rooms in WA after the win. He featured quite prominently in the vision and in the celebrations.

Just what the f*** was he doing there? I thought we got rid of him...

Dodoro...divisive character.

To give some credit, numbers 22 & 37 have come along very nicely.

Wouldn’t mind seeing us actually give them a tap this year. Been a while since we looked somewhat on them in a game.

I think Duz is very undervalued. The amount of work he does that doesn’t gain a stat is enormous. Crashing packs, getting the ball out of opposition hands and moving it in our direction etc

AFLCA Coaches Votes:
10 Zach Merrett (ESS)
7 Nic Martin (ESS)
5 Tim Kelly (WCE)
4 Jake Waterman (WCE)
3 Darcy Parish (ESS)
1 Samuel Durham (ESS)

Flog in the Herald have Dasher the top vote. He had a great game but not in Zerrett’s league. Plus he kicked 3!!
I reckon some of these pricks don’t even attend the games they are reporting.
Too far for Baker now he's on to it, now he’s got it, OPEN GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dons are in front by one point at the 8 minute mark
