He'll retire Filth. The mind is willing, but the body ain't. I doubt he could endure another pre season.
Dont think he did a PS this year. I think he came back in feb.

I think he will retire at years end, and move on to a new chapter in his life.
This year will be the last time we get to watch him play. What bigger reason could there be to get to a game

The beauty of the game is that new champions will come along.

A sad as it may be to say farewell to the great James Hird, perhaps in 15 years we will be saying the same about Bachar Houli.

I remember to this day watching Simon Madden and Terry Daniher wave goodbye one last time out at AFL Park.

We won a flag without them the next year!! In that team was one J Hird along with Misiti, Mercuri and Fletcher.

Heard Sir Jim on the radio this morning saying he is really enjoying himself and is excited about his retirement as it motivates him to give everything he has got for the last 15 or 18 games if they go all the way. Hird actually said the bit about all the way 18 games etc.

If I were Sir James, I'd take that as an insult.
Buckley doesn't even come close to our Sir James. :x :x
