It was a bit of a disgrace how they sent him out though.

Feel a bit sorry for the bloke.

Maybe now they may actually have a chance. Possibly too late though, have lost a number of good players, and have a few aging stars in the team.

Never thought i'd say this, but i feel sorry for Grant Thomas today.

Prior to today, he was 'unaware' the some faceless people above him had a problem with certain aspects of his coaching and player management. Apparently these 'flaws' had been discussed at board level for months!

Why wasn't Grant made aware of these issues then, so he could at least have an opportunity to address them? Very poor communication, totally unprofessional.

Given St.Kilda's tragic past, Grant hasn't done too bad a job. But then again, that must be the St.Kilda way ... just as Stan Alves!

Also it has been revealed that they have been sourcing future coaches for at least a month.

Carlton can't afford Pagan and they don't want him - they'd love to sack him but it'd be a lot of money down the sink.............

St. Kilda can't afford to elevate one of their dud assistants to the senior position because none of them have a clue...........

C'mon down, Dennis Pagan. Don't let the door hit you on the way out Grant.

Mark Harvey would be good for them. Toughen them up a bit. Too many receivers, ala Geelong late 80s' early 90s.
And yes, as some people have said, other teams will be worried now. Grant Thomas had only coached country football before AFL. They probably got rid of Blight because he probably tried to toughen them up. :?

I heard that. That is absoulutely pathetic.

What if they won the premiership?

Disgracefully dealt.

Best decision St Kilda has made in years, but once again it was handled in the typical pathetic St Kilda way!!!!

Getting rid of Grunt Thomas won't win them a flag when they have they still have their same old shitehouse culture!!!

Whoever the new coach is, he'll be confronted with Harvey, Thompson, Peckett and Powell as aging players due to go.
Three of those are easy decisions, one isn't quite so easy as he's THE icon of the last decade...but his time is nigh.
Hard decisions to make, but they'll be made I expect.

Do y'all think they'll go for a decent ruck?
Spiders available apparently!!! Now wouldn't that be funny!

edit: Oh, I see it's been mooted already

Bye Bye Thomas. Maybe St Kilda can actually stop pretending and step up as real premiership threats for a change.

I'd suggest Butterss is part of the problem as well. Yet another coach he's raped and discarded in appalling fashion.

Exactly what i was thinking. Butters is a wanker. He screwed that up big time and made a complete idiot out of himself.

Butters appears to have NFI when it comes to the football side of his club.
How does he expect the team to do well when they are constantly ravaged by injury?
I think he's an impatient prick who wants change to appease the supporters. He would fit in well at Richmond.

So who's gonna coach the club now? Maybe he could do it.

Give Thomas a bit of credit. At least he showed up to the announcement. Would have taken a heap of guts to do that after getting the flick.
