Yep Neitz definitely needs to be on a decent players list, not a champions list.

1. Hird
2. Voss
3. Harvey
4. Riccuito
5. Archer
6. Buckley
7. Darcy
8. Kouta (doesn't get to be higher because he only did it for a few years before injury wreaked his career)
9. Grant
10. Neitz

If Neitz doesn't deserve to be there why does Archer? Clearly the most over rated play of the 90's. I know he's tough and hard at the ball but that doesn't make you a champion. Archer in my opinion will always be a very good footballer but no where near Champion.

Probably has something to do with the fact that Archer is a dual premiership player who won a Norm Smith Medal and the AFLPA Most Courageous Player Award a record 6 times. Plus the fact that Archer has most likely whipped Neitz's arse on many occasions.

1. Hird
2. Voss
3. Buckley
4. Harvey
5. Ricciuto

All the same level:
Neitz
Archer
Koutoufides
Grant

Luke Darcy is possibly the worse player in the competition at the moment and by no means should be mentioned even in the same breath as the others.

Yeah true...but he was a champion ruckman and a very good forward for a number of years before the end of his career was rooted by his back to back knee injuries.

He said he would play on if the new coach wants him....the new coach should not want him. His body is shot to bits and he is useless on the ground these days.

Can anyone remember the lat time this guy kicked more than 2-3 goals in a game?? Been a while I would reckon.

I heard the initial radio segment, Anthony Hudson, Dermot Brereton and Liam Pickering rated the following players, based on the criteria that:
If you had a draft to pick from the players, and already knew how their careers went, who would you choose for your club?

Players were:
Hird,
Buckley
Harvey
Kouta
Grant
Archer
Darcy
Riccuito

Can't remember exact for each person, but there were only two choices that all three agreed on: The bookends of the list Hird 1st, Darcy 8th.
Neitz and Voss were not in the calculations, and from memory the overall blended result was something like:

Hird - All agreed a notch above in all areas
Buckley - 2 of thre had him 2, one had Roo higher
Riccuito - Opposite to Buckley voting
Harvey - Despite 2 Brownlows, lack of kicking ability was a factor
Kouta - While he had one year of brilliance, others were more consistent
Archer - Not as gifted a player, but his feats inspored the rest of the team
Grant - Better than Darcy, but still not near the rest. Injuries hurt him
Darcy - Never reached the heights of the others in the list

Was interesting to listen to their reasons for their choices, while some were purely looking at the players abilities, Dermott rated Arch higher purely for the reason that by drafting him you would get a better performance out of the entire team. Something both Buckley and Harvey don't neccessarily inspire.

awesome - I love R.Harvey. true gentleman and champion player.

some people criticise his kicking ability but early on in his career he was superb kicking it down the throats of Lockett and Loewe.

He is one player I love to watch, even though he plays for another side. A brilliant footballer, and deserved dual-brownlow medallist. What a champion.
